Well, no matter what the minimum wage is, other prices will rise to compensate.
My thinking is get a better job
Getting a better job isn't just as simple as that lol
“just get a better job”
1) everyone deserves a living wage no matter what
2) you’re gonna complain when no one is there to serve your food, stock your groceries and deliver your online shopping bc they went and got “better jobs”
Exactly
Well, no matter what the minimum wage is, other prices will rise to compensate.

Price inflation of consumer products is artificial. If minimum wage became $25 an hour today, the price of detergent has no reason to change.
F*** this “higher wages guarantees inflation” myth
“Only 22% of the time (twice) has an increase of the minimum wage corresponded with an increase to the inflation rate. On the other hand, 78% of time that there was a minimum wage increase since 1980, there hasn’t been an increase to the annual inflation rate. If raising the minimum wage was going to cause inflation, it would’ve increased — but it didn’t, and doesn’t. It’s a historical reality that can be proven when you look at the the minimum wage increases versus historical inflation rates.”
I remember when I first made $15 an hour I felt like the s***
Real s*** lol
"better job"
if you have kids you probably dont have time to start planning other degrees/certifications/skills to get that higher pay bracket nor the money to pay to get those things done
if youre working 2 min wage jobs you probably dont have time to start planning other degrees/certifications/skills to get that higher pay bracket nor the money to pay to get those things done
and that all still is tbh work, so now you have to work at ur job and go home and do work for future jobs
and now your entire day is structured around getting money
thats what a career is ofc, but then you end up 40 and you're still stressed out about making more money and your complete lack of work life balance
sad
In cali you cant even live in a meth heads garage wit 20 an hour unless y bunker wit 5 other men.
i know you’re exaggerating but as someone that’s moving to cali alone next year this is scary
“Please don’t let people working wage jobs earn because then I’ll have nothing to feel better about myself”
20 is more than enough thats like 160 for 8 hours times 7 more than a rack if that aint enough you have to look at yourself imo but it depends on where you live
i know you’re exaggerating but as someone that’s moving to cali alone next year this is scary
its not an exaggeration at all bro lmfaoo
not in socal/ LA area atleast, good luck my man
i think more important than raising minimum wage is insurance for everybody and lowering the cost of education
I make 21.50/hr and I can't complain.
Live in a 1 bedroom apartment (very noisy) close to the city
always got 2k-4k in the account
can't complain for someone in their 20's
but i would not want to be making this past 30. EDIT: live near minneapolis btw.
the fight for 15 is outdated. if we're going to have a wage labor system (yuck) minimum wage should be 25$, also indexed to cost of living and inflation or whatever.
That would be great but 9/10 they’ll just make everything more expensive
Getting a better job isn't just as simple as that lol
I 100% agree with this. I wish it was tho.

Ooh this makes more sense! Thanks for the link. Will read up on it.
Your explanation literally refers to being bad with money. If you're bad with money and have one car problem and are completely f***ed, that's your problem. Especially if you make $20 an hour or more.
When I was a teenager and making $7.15/hr, I thought $10 would be life changing. Then when I made that, I realized it wasn't s***. I then thought $12 would be the one. Got that, still not s***. $15/hr is also not really s***. Now I'm at $20/hr and it's alright, but you realize that it's still not a lot... Especially considering the 10's of thousands in medical debt that I'm trying to pay off.
