If anything, this just supports her initial allegations from last year being closer to the truth. If you had just been raped, you wouldn’t be worried about “getting through” to someone with complaints like it were some bureaucratic issue, you’d be going to the police.
Plus, before anyone actually dug the call up, Reade claimed that her mom mentioned harassment in the office but not sexual assault in the call, like she was trying to stay ahead of the story (her mom didn’t mention either).

You’re missing the point. She was trying to come out about it. Her mom called in asking for advice on what to do when nobody would hear their complaint. The takeaway is that they were complaining, but it isn’t something they took to the police. It seems a lot more congruent with her initial claims of issues in the office that she was potentially fired or wrongfully forced out for.

I mean... look at her initial claims, and then look at the version of her story that she changed to. Which one do you think this call would relate to more appropriately? Does it seem more like a mother concerned about her daughter getting fired because she refused to be forced to strut around and serve drinks, or does it seem like a mother who is somehow confused about who to contact for oversight on the rape of her daughter...?
