I mean honestly I don't think that Biden has anyone else under consideration right now that would be a "balance" in terms of policy. Everyone else is basically moderate.

However, I think if he's trying to go for a "balance" choice that gives him balance in terms of youth, energy, and not being white lol Kamala is (OF THE ONES ON HIS LIST - capitalized so y'all don't say someone not on his list lmao) probably the best choice. I thought she wasn't a good choice before since she's from Cali and the West is an easy W for Dems, but now that I read that article I am inclined to think the electoral map shouldn't play as big a role in the deciding process.

Val Demings might also be a good choice for similar reasons that I list for Kamala (although she is a bit older).

Disclaimer: Again, this is all political strategy talk and based on who is realistically on Biden's list. Not who I would prefer policy-wise.

there's also no example of an establishment candidate choosing a "radical" vp (at least from what was listed). all of the examples include a vp that meets the counterbalance backwards in whatever category.

by that logic, that leaves him to choose a younger, well liked establishment figure. so he'd lose the advantage that would be gained by a balance pick. although all of this a***ysis could be meaningless, since it is a reelection year and all of the examples were not

This is going to happen regardless, but Trump's reelection will speed that up tho for sure.

Someone on twitter put me on to the fact that trump is consistently getting less than 50% of the white vote in polls
Looked closely at several of the latest and it checked out in all of them
Of course the final margins will be closer/better for him but no Republican could possibly win with that low a share of wypipo

Even if they had a slight majority of white voters, they still could lose as long as turnout is high enough In november

CA (blue, good) has expanded their Healthcare system since the ACA in 2010, while TX (red, bad) has been the posterchild for opposition to the ACA and more and more people there are losing health coverage while all of this is going on. This divide is a trend being seen nationally. Also relevant because these are the two most populous states, making the $ behind what everything costs p comparable.

Why does your loyalty to Bernie not extend to his endorsement?

because people don't have loyalty to bernie, they have loyalty to the values he had and policies he envisioned. his endorsement means nothing
