If Rice becomes VP nominee, will she have to switch parties to Democratic from Republican? I’ve always wondered if it would be possible in the modern age to have a ticket that actually consists of two ppl from different parties.
EDIT: was thinking of wrong Rice
You're thinking of Condoleezza Rice, Susan Rice has been a Democrat
How y'all feeling about Bass compared to the other women Biden seems to have on his list?
Feeling like she may be a better pick than Harris once people get to know her a bit more.
Worst case would be Rice imo.

thank you, idk how tf I confused them lmao, I knew their face from one another

Idk, I feel like this might be a bridge too far for me
Duckworth and Warren are my favorite options, although they're probably not very likely

Big oof at Scientology, but if we think critically for a second you gotta take the context into perspective -- she's a representative for the West Side of LA. The West Side of LA is where a lot of very wealthy people in Hollywood live, therefore a lot more of her constituents are a part of that wacko cult than any other congressional district in the country. Especially in 2010.
However at the same time, I definitely recognize that 99% of Americans do not look at things critically, so they would just see that video and say "She's a Scientologist!!!!!" (Trump would probably literally tweet that).
As far as Duckworth and Warren go -- I think Duckworth is actually the safest pick for Biden....if it wasn't for where she was born. You know that BS birther s*** will come up again if she's the pick. And I definitely don't see Biden going with Warren based on the how he has been running his campaign so far.
(also if we're being real, all religions are a wacko cult. But that's for a different thread )

Rice would definitely be the worst pick. She doesn't bring anyone on the left or the right + all the Benghazi bs talk that would come back up. It would be Hillary pt 2. And she's never been actually elected to anything.
And I get why people are hyping up Bass, but she doesn't bring anything to the ticket besides being a black women. She's a little TOO safe of a pick. She's old and Biden needs energy into his campaign. It would be another Tim Kaine pick. Plus her scientology and Castro comments don't help.
The best "safe" pick would be Duckworth since she's younger and I think she can bring a certain energy. I would be good with her or Harris.

I'm with you on all of that, but how do you feel about the birther stuff that would be brought up about Duckworth?

Ehh, you know Trump will be screaming about it if she was picked but it is what it is. I don't think it's that big of a deal

She'll probably be able to fight back better than Biden would and the less Trump attacks Biden the better. I can't really see her being targeted enough to be a problem when Biden is the one Trump has to beat. Famous last words but Trump is going to need more than racism to win this one.

She seems like an inbetween of warren and demings

Do you have the policy receipts to prove that she's conservative though?
Not saying you're wrong, I just haven't heard people say that before.

And ideologically, Ms. Duckworth would appear closely attuned to Mr. Biden. She has spent much of her career positioned to the right of liberal Democrats, retaining some centrist muscle memory from her unsuccessful first congressional race in 2006 — when she pledged fiscal conservatism and punishments for “illegal immigrants” — and occasionally leading Republicans to wonder if they are looking at a kindred soul.
“I had a chance to develop a friendship with Tammy about 15 years ago while we were both out at Walter Reed,” Bob Dole, the former Republican senator and presidential nominee, said in an emailed statement, recalling his time as a patient at the veterans hospital during Ms. Duckworth’s stay there. “In hindsight, I wish I had brought up politics. She could have run as a Republican.”

Interesting. Thanks for the insight
