Susan Rice is one of the least charismatic or galvanizing picks with the most dirt to be dug up Biden could make.

Obviously don't love her, but

1) the VP is mainly just there for electoral purposes, and she was by far one of his safest choices in that regard imo. Duckworth was probably the only one that was safer, but even she had the stupid birther stuff the GOP could have talked about.

Also in regard to electability as I've said before, I think it was mega dumb for Biden to only choose from women. There were some solid male choices he could have made too, and the list of women he had wasn't great.

2) Policy-wise she's way better than some of the other possible choices he was considering (like Demings, Klobuchar, Duckworth, Rice, Grisham, and Whitmer) if Biden was to die in office.

he needs to be picking by state by state strategy to win key swing states, not be aiming for a popular vote. kamala does not help in any key state and in fact is actively detrimental to many of them
