Let's take his campaign in a vacuum aside from his political views for a second - in my opinion Bernie is just bad at branding. Some people attribute his poor performance in these metrics to malice (namely right wing boomers), but I think it's just plain incompetence. It's like he forgot the country he's running in is still the US. As a politician, you have to slightly bend your message to the general population of the country you're running in.
I don't know if it's just his advisors blowing it or what. Even besides his lack of aggression toward Biden, Bernie just didn't tailor his message to most actual voters, let alone the demographic he needed to actually win. His team clearly thought he was, but it clearly wasn't nearly as good as they thought. I couldn't tell who he was trying to appeal to half the time.
Like I get it, he's trying to be consistent in his messaging, but that messaging clearly wasn't working. What he says gets a lot of likes on twitter, and it's like his advisors thought they could equate that to real life just because of how popular Trump's twitter is (and thus his relative popularity with that demographic interacting with it) without recognizing the caveats between the two.
If they didn't think that, they clearly would have tried to changing their strategy. Bernie ran an amazing social media campaign and a lackluster political campaign. People who believe in his message need to learn from his mistakes if they want any chance of being elected en-masse in the future.

Bernie talked about expanding medicare, protecting social security, getting money out of politics, climate change, and on and on and on. These issues apply to voters of EVERY demo.

He was THE issues candidate. Only thing is, the over 45 crowd doesn't care about issues except "beating Trump", so they just want to be told which oppressor to vote for. Bernie was a 3 state winning frontunner until the DNC hail mary actually worked.

He did everything he could but attack Biden. Maybe that wouldve woken the default voters up if he just said "Joe is Hillary 2.0. I am FDR."

not even really touching on any specific points in your post but at the end of the day he still ran a good political campaign with an impressive ground game. it was always going to just have to be much more in regards to what he was up against and the mountain he had to climb, so i think it’s easy to say bc he got beat by the likes of a joe biden or what have you, that his campaign was somehow worse than his. i disagree and think it’s disingenuous to all the other optics (even tho u said consider it in a vacuum, ofc)
