“Rap” listeners and artists right now who didn’t grow up listening to rap are trying to force the genre to mirror what they grew up listening to instead (nu metal, emo, screamo, etc.). It’s unhealthy and overall bad for rap.
It evolved into rage beats
You think f***ing everything is a rage beat man

i have a feeling those rage beats gonna sound stale as f*** in 2022

Ur a dumbass if u don’t hear the similar synth
lol
Streaming services don't have some classic mixtapes. And some of the ones they do have are incomplete
If they update the mix of songs, you're stuck listening to those versions on streaming. I prefer OG Feedback. Find a topic by Isaiah Rashad another good example. They changed the beat slightly, but I prefer the original by far
Artists are making long and bloated projects to have higher streaming numbers. Or rushing to get projects out because of how much music consumers have available to them now. The quality of albums has suffered because of streaming
Streaming f***ing sucks from a consumer point of view.

Rage, drill, or dust. There are 3 beats now.
too many of these new rappers i've seen posted here are just getting carried by beats
i'm almost certain you could take any poster here that can flow decently well and slap some autotune on them and it'd be as good as this ken carson or yeat or whoever else s***
maybe as good as ken but not as good as yeat
solar power was another good lorde album, even though it’s her weakest work. the reaction to this was like the white woman’s wlr but it never recovered
even though i think people that complain about streaming still are annoying
2013-2017 was the peak for streaming music
Imagine 1930s music nerds b****ing about record players
"Records have ruined music. Nothing compares to hearing it live. The magic is totally lost listening to it on a record player at home."
That's basically you guys whining about spotify

The funny thing is vinyl has made a huge resurgence in 2021.

ngl this is probably the first year since 2015 where i haven’t listened to a lot of albums
i just don’t have the time to constantly explore new sounds
i think my number this year is 22
2015 was my first year i really got into full projects so that was like 7

The whole decade vinyl has been booming. Doesnt take away from how great streaming is though. Both have their place.

Yeah Def agree. Streaming is great. It’s so convenient man. Lmao.
Solar power is a fantastic record. Might be lordes best
I don't think even you believe this
Rage, drill, or dust. There are 3 beats now.
don't forget piano/pain beats.
Thats really the main 4 right now, and the occasional pierre bourne knock off
Tyler’s album sucks
of course you comment this after giving pierre a shoutout
