have you listened to it? never heard of her until today.
Yep I checked it out, wasn't thrilled
She got some comparisons to Tirzah when I was looking her up, more sparse-like stuff. But I rather listen to Tirzah.

@Danny did you give that Astrid Sonne album a listen? I'm listening right now
I do not know who Astrid Sonne is, I'm afraid
Every year someone goes 'it's been a down year for music' whilst it being an actual good year.
but goddamn looking at this list... Hate to say it might be true.
Lmk if it's good
I'm liking it. On track 5 and the project is only 26 minutes long. Track 2 my favorite so far.

This year so solid to me. Quantity and quality. But I also could never be like this year was so much better than that year or whatever. My memory is just not set up that way lol

I'm probably just becoming older. (washed)
Highlight for me personally was The Drake - Kendrick Beef. Felt like a true moment in music history. And 'Brat' tapped into the gen z zeitgeist on aesthetics and tiktok alone.
But in terms of albums or young artists who are holding up the standard - I'm just not hearing it. Like who's next, who's defining the 2020s? (S/o Mk.Gee - him & dijon have massive crossover potential.)

i get the angle you're coming from. i don't really have answer to that question either. the way I view things is the quantity of good albums and I feel like we got quite a bit this year.

Are you specifically looking for "next"? Cause our last generation of stars seems to still be going strong, if not even more so than their beginnings. Bey, Charli, Kendrick defining the 2020s so far to name a few lol. Or at least defining the years they dropped in (I know some people see BRAT and Charli's success as a fad). As far as new tho, Chappell is obviously huge already. Mk.gee like you said and Lenderman getting a lot of shouts. That big wave of bands like BCNR, black midi, Squid at the turn of the decade has died down, but there's always a new wave waiting to be found.
i remember when the pitchfork end of year lists moved and shaped the culture they have fallen so far
Niggas let Kim Gordon and that Mid ass blade album go top 10 I cannot do this no more lmfao
bladee album is better than whatever you listen to
