00s washes. Peak Ye, peak 50, peak Em, peak Jay, peak Usher, peak Luda, peak TI, peak Wayne, peak Jeezy, OutKast, Snoop, Cube etc..

Not to mention pop was top tier and rock had its last legs of mainstream success too. If anything the 10s are the decade with the least amount of timeless music. Pop dried up, rock is dead, rap is declining. Only this current decade looks on par

To be clear, 2000 is considered part of the 20th century, so 2001 onward.

if we talking peak drake commercially, 2018 washes 2016. he was at #1 for 29 weeks that year, most of any artist ever.
also was an amazing year for rap in general:

• wayne releases c5 and has a major comeback
• rocky and skepta drop the biggest song of both of their careers
• kanye has his biggest song since 2011, produces daytona, and drops kids see ghosts and ye
• travis drops astroworld and has smash features like zeze
• migos have several hits both as a group and individually as features
• lil baby and gunna have a breakout year and drop a diamond song together
• mac, earl, saba, jid all drop great albums
• carti drops die lit
• future has several amazing features and drops beastmode 2
• WSG drops supreme blientele, benny drops tana talk 3
• frank drops moon river and has amazing features on purity and carousel
• vince staples drops FM
• bino goes #1 and drops some great singles
• drake has 7 songs with over a billion streams each, his 2018 work adds up to over 17B streams, more than most rappers entire discographies
