Nah he want the best rapper, his hook game back then though
Jam Master Jay taught him
02: 3 of the hardest tapes that year + guess whos back getting signed off mixtapes and touring off a mixtaoe
03: get rich or die trying + no mercy no fear + flooding the mixtape circuit with gunit radio mixtapes
04: gunit take over banks and buck solo projects huge, + flooding the mixtape circuit with more heat.
05: the massacre top 3 biggest selling album that year working on that while working on the game documentary while still flooding the street with more tapes..
Etc
But yeah that nigga had one good year lol these lil niggas don’t know they just know what they heard ... we was playing gunit video games nigga lol
It literally took the combo of Kanye west becoming a megastar and 50 over saturating his own brand for him to be dethroned. I don’t think people understand how big his prime was.
Half my school had G-Unit clothes

Thats a fact on top of interscope moving more in a pop direction because they felt 50 was “wasting time giving away free material” he had beef with interscope CEO while dropping curtis and still was able to sell 700,000 first week

Curtis was trash
Curtis was trash
Overhated. Its good
Highkey 50 might of been poppin since 1999, how to rob and his song for the in too deep soundtrack came out that year. He was definitely at least bubbling then
Can y'all imagine when Drake falls off like 50?
I hope Drake ages like Jay
Well drakes been dominating for 13 years so far
50 had 3 years like that.
i could feel this on Curtis
but the massacre is fire
i'm standing on that
It’s one of the best produced rap albums ever imo
Curtis was trash
And still moved 700k first week lol thats how big 50 was and they album was alright not that bad its just trash compared to graduation which was a masterpiece

Nah I think Curtis was trash too even as a 50 fan, he was trying too hard to rely on feaures and some of the songs he made were repetetive. I ain't like The Massacre like that but it still had more interesting songs.
Imma keep it real though Before I Self Destruct and the mixtapes he released around that time were better in my opinion but by that time the public turned their back on him,

Meh I don’t really think graduation is a masterpiece, maybe 8/10 but at time 50 was becoming “uncool” the pop audience just hadn’t cottoned on yet, and the album being trash lost him a lot of fans
It’s one of the best produced rap albums ever imo
imma run it back
been a while since i've heard it
I remember back in 6th grade when everybody in school brought their massacre CD with them One of the best runs ever period even though it was only 3-4 years.

They weren't around lol whole world loved 50 and G-Unit for years.
Was a huge gunit fan
Even had the sneakers and the gunit T-shirt
Then Game came out and I got the G unot shirts LOL game kinda destroyed that s***
This is also true. G-Unit records like 30 people Vs Game and they lost.
50 went on a run almost as crazy as em
even going as far as getting a biopic and game
think about that
he was EVERYWHERE
more importantly than that
HE WAS NICE
i will never understand
the massacre's reception
The Masacre is a classic. I don't know what people are listening to.

I think rap got softer, so gansgta rap only had some highs every now and then like Waka or Keef for example.
