In terms of new rap, I've been listening to s*** ranging from Mick Jenkins, Paris Texas, JPEGMafia, Teezo Touchdown, Don Toliver, Mach Hommy, Pink Siifu, Tony Shhnow, Kenny Mason, Larry June and the Pastelle Records crew lately.
I also want to show love to Beanie Sigel, my hometown hero Redman, Kanye, Cam'Ron, and Young Jeezy for making me love Hip Hop as kid too.

Great mix of artists, both the old and new
Only thing I'm unfamiliar with is the Pastelle Records crew, would you put me onto some of their artists/songs?
@sentient_sherm_bag we gotta get this and the bars thread jumping today, dawg
Knew you'd come through with a great answer, thank you
Love that this brought up a through line to James Brown
Is there anything in particular you'd pull from to James Brown and Sly Stone to show that progression into what Flashlight and Give Up The Funk were doing?
And what songs/albums would you use to key showcase the more experimental side vs the funk sound the bands settled into?
My bad for all the questions and thank you again
@Elric my bad but could I ask you about all of this again, really appreciated your response to my first post regarding this
