drake and 40 out their mouth can say how much kanye influenced them back then and yall would still find holes in it to cope

Drake did something big for rap. He was the one that started doing the whole rap/singing thing as a combo without being designated as an R&B artist. This is one of the most important things that has happened in rap in the last decade. So no maybe not 808's but other than that Drake is extremely important/influential to all these new ass dudes.

This song has influenced almost every new song you hear, even if it's not direct influence.

I love kanye and 808s but it doesnt sound like so far gone to me even if 40 and drake say so. Kanye never sang like Brias Interlude and never rapped like Ignant s***. Lets call it off sounds like kanye to you? Lmao

drake has said out his mouth plenty of times that kanye is his biggest influence...

and the sound of that project was clearly inspired by elements of 808s, as well as houston and other sounds ofc. But the whole singing rapper s*** being cool, that whole genre was an offset of kanyes style in that era.

you can say kanye was influenced by tpain and thats fine but doesnt make it any less true that kanye helped birth the genre that drake ran with and owes alot more to than drake stans will ever admit

nobody is saying drake ripped off every song on 808s

he has other influences as well

literally out of 40s mouth - after Ye saying

“I CAN’T EVEN BE MAD AT HIM,” SAYS 40 [SHORT FOR WORKING 40 DAYS AND 40 NIGHTS…NOAH’S ARK, GET IT?) “BECAUSE THE LAST CD I LISTENED TO BEFORE I STARTED WORKING ON SO FAR GONE WAS 808S & HEARTBREAK.”

    /argument

    first search result lol

This article said nothing about 808s. Drake also said “one of” meaning there’s more than one. He’s stated Jay as an influence and Phonte is clearly someone he takes influence from
