In terms of everything. Kendrick is a lyrically better than TUPAC
not better than gza though
Oh my god I had to turn that s*** off fast.
Mans talking about Ice Cream from OB4CL. One of the goat beats, legendary Method Man hook and prime Ghostface and Chef killing s***.

I never thought pac was that god tier of a rapper like everyone claim. He was more of an activist with a good image too me
Listen to a posse cut or any track where Pac is with another rapper and 9/10 he has the verse that grabs your attention the most.
Pac was different. Yeah not technically stupendous like GZA and Monch, but he was one of the greatest. Hands down.

Pac not being "lyrical" is only east coast 2000s propaganda
You’re 50 years off
!https://youtu.be/RUAzLpG8sf8We gonna ignore how hard this goes or?
They spittin
How could you say that 90's sounds dated when everything now doesn't even last a week before its forgotten about
This so facts.
Name something that didn’t come and go these days?
Remember when Ab-Soul dropped that track during the pandemic and KTT went crazy? Not seen it mentioned since

Bro fr, s*** is just going too fast. And alot of it is questionable in quality too.
The fact that this was considered top tier music automatically disqualifies the 90s from being the worst aging decade
I’ve always felt like 00s production sounds extremely ‘tacky’ and cheap.
I remember growing up that era and only listening to 90s rap. Don’t like that decade much at all tbh.
idk i feel like the issue in this particular case is people just wanting to rush to be offended. i'm not sure but all it seemed like OP was saying is that 90's rap sounds very much of its time. it doesn't have the most positive connotation but it can warrant an honest discussion rather than inflammatory bs.
like if a 90s rap song you didn't know came on in a playlist or on the radio you could probably guess right away. but going back to OP's example, 70s disco might hold more influence over the music of today so you may not be able to place it as easily.
if anything, it made me think about how hip-hop has always been an evolving genre and the different sounds it has gone through. we'll be saying the same thing about the "trap" era we're in. yeah music being dated can suggest it didn't stand the test of time but we know that isn't always true. so why can't we point out how distinct the different eras of hip-hop have been, and how it dates them?
TLDR: get out of y'all damn feelings all the time. lol
OP post wasn’t well executed though. Just came across very ignorant and misinformed.
Your post though? Yeah definitely worthy of a discussion tbh
97 percent of this s*** sounds DATED AF. 70’s Disco aged better than 90’s Hip Hop. When I listen to rap in this era for better or worse It feels like the 90s and at least it captures the era better than any other genre or time. But that’s the best complaint I can give it lol.
dumb ass
Some of it like Nas (illmatic in 1994) and Tribe in 1993 don't sound bad at all
Illmatic sounds amazing. Incredible mixing and mastering.

Exactly and to top it off It Was Written has aged like Wine too
out of all the music in HISTORY? Slide piano jazz doesn't show it's age more than a pharcyde album...really.
Late 2000s more dated
True. Listen to Forever and then play Mos Def and Talib Kweli Black Star album (any song) or BOTB by Mos
