Glad to see another David join the thread
who said I was saying it was?
Who said I said you said that? OP said that

The classics during that era mainly came from 80's legends who just kept evolving and making great music. Like Ice Cube, De La, Public Enemy, Beasties, Rakim, Kool G, KRS, LL, Scarface, etc.. those guys were killing it. And some new acts like Tribe, Pete Rock & CL Smooth, Redman, Cypress Hill..

Yeah you're right about that, there really wasn't too many BIG artists that truly STARTED out in the early 90's and we will keep it to 1990-1992, 1993-1994 had some huge acts. But like all I can really think of is Digital Underground and maybe a few others but for real 1990-1992 was kind of a dark area for rap.
It might be equivalent to 2020 in some ways.

Fr lmao
At least back then Ice Cube broke out of the hottest group in the game and unlocked a new level of artistry as a solo act, that's better and more exciting than what we have going on now sadly..

That's true, agreed with that. Don't think we have anyone to compare with Ice Cube though nowadays
Wait 10 years and it's going be this one easily
Are you talking about 2010s or 2020s
hip-hop the only genre where you see the new generation disrespect the OGs and not bringing any legitimate criticism, s***s sad
How could you say that 90's sounds dated when everything now doesn't even last a week before its forgotten about
the fast food era
lol what
the fact that most of those classic albums still sound fresh if you arent familiar w 90s hh says a lot
its been 30 years since the begginging of the 90s and 20 since the end
Midnight Murauders, Ready To Die, The Miseducation Of Lauryn HIll, Deltron 3030, Reasonable Doubt, Fantastic vol.2, Stankonia, Supreme Clientele, The Unseen, Doggystyle
these are all albums that still sound fresh and unique, they dont sound generic at all. Its been atleast 20 years since they were released. Do you realize how long that is. Yes it doesnt sound like modern day obv but it is very easy to still appreciate hence why people still rave about 90s hh and not 00s bling era s***.
