ight naw never make fun of me for being a bvs fan again
but also nah nigga
True fans of art understand that all artistic interpretation is entirely subjective and do not put themselves on a pedestal in relation to their peers. Instead, they find fascination and even beauty in interpretations that diverge from their own
movies actually pop artsy and existentially philosophical, just not too deep, this doesnt have to be a study on Dostoevsky
what is it about to you because bro saying family drama, multiverse, crude humor above you is definitely an oversimplification
Not sure if that’s a quote of me because I pointed out more things than that. But let’s get back to the point I’m making; if a film spells out all it’s themes as on the nose as possible, do you think people are still only viewing at a surface level?

some things spelled out and hamfisted other things not. I am agreeing some things are direct. Because the audience is well there is only so much you can hide or give certain things

You gonna make me cry
do you think Bones and All is better than EEAAO ?
Very random question but no. But they deserve the exact same rating for quality.
Family guy is a bunch of family drama and fictional things that didn’t happen too
as is Simpsons I’m saying Rick and morty isn’t the origin
So we’re not acting like multiverses are canon in R&M unlike those other shows? Keep grasping

multiverses is the Matrix as well which this movie is inspired by more than rick and morty. Yes you can say rick and morty too but its simpsons treehouse of horror, matrix, rick and morty and so many things

It’s hard to say how people are viewing it tbh
I think most people object to the humor
Which, fair enough, humor hits everyone different
I personally found it consistently funny
As for how the themes come across, I don’t think they’re necessarily subtle, and I don’t think they should feel subtle, this ain’t that type of movie
As far as monologues are concerned, I feel like Waymond’s is as good a piece of writing as anything you’re likely to hear
I don’t think it would be improved by concealing its thesis
I think everything works within the tone that’s set for itself, and a lot of that has to do with the expert way that it handles its characters
Amongst all the craziness, the emotional arcs of Evelyn and her daughter, and Evelyn and her husband, still feel real
There was certain stuff I didn’t pick up on at first tho… Extra stuff, like how the bagel physically looks like the inverse of the googly eyes. I thought that was just brilliant.

Nah I am joking I get if people hate it and think its simple. I respect that. I get if people compare to rick and morty at the end of the day I enjoy the movie.

my out there out there take is the multiverse even canon in this movie ? Or is it just a way she finally processes her reality, her divorce, her suicidal , her dad her daughter and their disconnect . How much her life has hit a rut? Is her Daughter really Jobu Tupaki?
The whole movie starts to get weird when she receives the divorce paper and the taxes. She essentially reaches a breaking point and since she is so anti joy and fun (against the googly eyes) we go on the tale.
Is the tale meant for really any part of it to be taken literally? To that degree
I just don’t like how some of y’all use the multiverse concept to act like the movie is trend hoping, or act like we should give a f*** what Marvel is up to
The whole verse-jumping idea is more than enough of an original and valid spin on it IMO

Is the narrator telling us that she traveled through different dimensions entirely reliable enough to believe the entire story

Huh. That’s a whole wrinkle that’s hard to wrap my brain around haha
Just another excuse to watch it again
ight naw never make fun of me for being a bvs fan again
This is definitely a Rick and morty type of Reddit movie, message is good and I fw it 100% but man d**** battles and sausage fingers… glad Asian actors winning though

like just in general the whole movie starts they chilling watching tv doing taxes. If she hasn't seen this other dimension her entire life you have to ask what triggers it IN THIS MOVIE. Also do any characters other than her fully acknowledge the other dimensions at the end end....
