I feel like social media only likes what they consider "diverse" artist Cole isn't shown love because his sound is classic, but it's authentic. In comparison to something like Utopia(Yeezus biting)
That’s exactly how it is, they be gassing any form of experimentation no matter how bad it is compared to the more traditional s***.
it's a good album. maybe great. not classic.
cant have some of those cornball lines and a song like wet dreamz and call it a classic
Gtfo man lol. If bars/lines disqualify albums from being a classic, there are no classics. The Rocky cult is the worst
Dipset was so influential the best rapper alive at the time Wayne wanted to be apart of it.
That’s like Drake wanting to be apart of A$AP Mob in this era
You get it lol I was gonna bring up how Dipset spare swag fueled the Wayne era and trickles down to this day with Uzi and Carti
Presently Rocky is cooked but in the 2010s y'all can't deny dude was running things for a bit
Rocky definitely had an era
Cole coming out on top overall when the dust settles because he's a way better rapper and he's still relevant in 2023 but Rocky being a better artist than Cole, at least at his best, is definitely not a controversial take lol
Rocky had an era similar to how Smokepurpp and Pump had theirs. You had to be there
Yeah I agree
I just mean Cam was out at the same time as Hov, Nas, Em etc so he wasnt considered a top lyricist of his time but he still is one of the most legendary from his era

Rocky ain’t touching the aura
Rocky ain’t touching the aura
I’m not saying Rocky is as good as Cam I’m saying he followed Cam’s blueprint
I’m not saying Rocky is as good as Cam I’m saying he followed Cam’s blueprint
You know what. Going back and reading over the post you made on the first page, I’m realizing that it wasn’t that bad

I’m sorry man Cole doesn’t have one yet.
I also said wet dreamz disqualifies it. Would you disagree

Thank you, a lot of people were missing my point and then just doubling down when I explained myself. I appreciate that.

Rocky isn’t pump or smokepurrp tier cmon now
Rocky ain’t touching the aura
"My AK was my a.k.a before my ABCs"
Never gets old

FHD is more influential than TPAB
cap and he going to prison too so all his relevancy going away
I’ll take the bait. Elaborate

This isn't true lol
Everyone loves the 2016 Tribe album and FHD by Cole lol, they're canon s*** at this point. People love the traditional hip hop sound even in the mainstream. Cole just doesn't make compelling traditional-sounding hip hop most of the time.
Griselda aren't experimental and everyone loves them. Big KRIT isn't experimental and he could be the most purely talented and dopest southern rapper of the 2010s, and producer. Cole just doesn't generally make projects any near as good as Tana Talk 3, 4eva Is A Mighty Long Time, etc
FHD is more influential than TPAB
Arbitrary word used for argument you can’t prove lol
Also probably wrong.
FHD is more influential than TPAB
Name a song by J. Cole that can compete with the social influence and impact "Alright" made lol
No Role Modelz is a cool song but come on now.

I'm just starting some s*** big fella
To answer your question tho, Work Out

This is not an argument, Jimmy

He probably shot someone or a jury won’t be able to be convinced otherwise and we’re already having the debate we’re having in here without a 3-5+ year prison sentence of inactivity lol

I don’t think either are that influential just great albums but FHD and TPAB are not that far from each other in whatever metric same for Alright and whatever song is “first things first RIP Uncle Phil”
This isn't true lol

Cole stans have a PHD in coping

Both songs are certainly influential culturally, but "Alright" became a protest anthem lol. It's deadass "Fuck the Police", "Fight the Power", tier s***. To each their own, but I just don't think "No Role Modelz" has that same level of cultural cache
