the pemberton score is pretty insane...

the only thing that really stings about this movie is that all the set up basically confirms already that Beyond is objectively going to be the better movie and it’s gonna be all the cool s*** they couldn’t fit into this movie

but 10 months isn’t that long in the grand scheme of things so

this is only really a timed complaint though and won’t really matter when the next movie is out and you can just watch both but i do think they should’ve kept the part 1 and part 2 in the titles for these

Casually putting the hardest animated drum playing oat in the first 15 mins of the movie

the whole thing with the counselor saying you “can’t have your cake and eat it too” and then Miles says “what if you have two?” being metaphorical for juggling ‘being Spider-Man’ and also ‘not sacrificing the people that comes with being Spider-Man’

then he literally tries to make a cake with a ton of stuff written to his father, and can’t fit the words so he goes for two. Once he gets to the party the cakes are f***ed as him being Spider Man got in the way of the everyday Miles stuff and both don’t go together, also meaning the stakes he’s dealing with literally go beyond what he thinks he’s capable of and adjusts the narrative that he needs to be more delicate and careful with his decisions in the next film

Phil and Chris are so good at setting up little narrative phrases that payoff in the story, and also reinforce the struggle characters are going through.

I don't get why people are saying it's out of character for the Spidermen going after miles. They literally spelled out the reason why they do so. They're all Spidermen who lost someone in their lives cause of their choices

The Story is so good he can look past the cast of Black, Hispanic, and Asian people

A great detail about Hobie is he says he’s “non-conformist” and all that, but the way he’s animated actually backs that up. The details on him are constantly shifting making him impossible to pin down and a bit of an eyesore to look at, but also animating him on 3s makes him way more jerky than everyone else.

Did anyone else's screening have pretty quiet audio throughout the film? Kinda made the experience a bit weaker because I go to the cinema for the film to be loud and explosive

Maybe yeah, I saw one of the producers put a statement out saying people should ask their cinemas to turn the volume up for it beforehand. Bit annoying tbh
