GREAT SHORT FEATURE FILM 70 MINS VERY DIFFERENT THEMES BUT BASED IN LIVERPOOL AS WELL EX-CONVICTS ARE ACTORS EARLY 2000S 70 MINS
Good show. 4 stars. Dushane jogging toward that boy while telling him to slow down was pure comedy
They saying this fiyah?
If you haven't watched, watch it.
It's amazing
first episode with the kid and the family at the station was really good and hooked me in
second episode...less so. definitely slower and i didn't think the acting was as great, like Jade for example. but i get she was supposed to be overly emotional so i guess.
and that chase scene, as it's been said before, was awful. nigga said "i haven't ran like that in years" lmao that damn near pissed me off. but him finally barking on the kid made up for it. Ashley Waters is a good actor. I like the way him and the sergeant play off each other, good chemistry.
y
Past the novelties (one-takes, acting debut), the material just wasn't engaging enough to be spread across 4 full length episodes, to me. Particularly the 3rd and 4th. The way the show is shot is lovely, but that's not enough to keep me tapped in.
The scenes with the detectives were the high points for me. Stephen Graham was great too, but the last episode had me snoozing.
would’ve started watching this way sooner if I knew it was only four episodes and Dushane was in it

Thing is for some folks with kids they found the 4th episode the most emotional / powerful . It's not like all 4 eps will connect the same for every one . 4th one was from a particular perspective and one I felt was definitely worth showing. I didn't connect with it as much as the other eps but still found gold in there
The other 3 episodes for sure had me gripped from start to finish though... I'm 16 years removed from school but as a Brit that s*** was real as hell in the second! And 3rd was my pick of the bunch

Oh for sure
The producers behind this just got the rights to do a TV show based off the movie threads. imagine Netflix will probably want to be in on that too. A threads TV show will have the Netflix audience shook .. would be one of their most talked about shows if done right
effective show. don't think i was as blown away as some people are, but i do really like the direction they went with it.
happy it wasn't flashback episodes of jesse and a big focus on his trial or something. the call when he says pleading guilty and the bedroom scene are just brutal
