releasing music is good, runing a studio album by making it a boring experience is an an inconvenient way to have the audience experience it
I just think the conversation is more nuanced than saying an album with an arbitrary amount of songs is bad/good. Pros and cons just like with everything

nah i 100% agree. I actually prefer albums that are 16+ songs usually. but there is def an issue of people padding albums for numbers or just due to a lack of exec producing and focus. pink tape is a good example, if it was 14-15 songs it would be incredible.
u can make a sprawling great album but almost never would it be not just a curation issue if its over 20 full length songs. saheem was my aoty and i consider no stylist, my turn and wunna to be classics. feel like lately long albums r mor justified in their length or its just due to the artist recording a ridiculous amount of heat
Gucci and Curren$y would shatter a lotta perspectives
i love chicken talk thats a great example of long ass albums
music is dying bruh professional musicians are releasing music can you believe that???? hell to the nawww where my cock rings collectors at
marvel dropped 40 movies why are yall complaining???????

It’s funny because I’m listening to Life After Death atm which is (imo at least) one of the greatest examples of a 20+ song album executed to perfection. It can be done but it has to be done with intention not just running the numbers up to your point. On the flip side the Wyoming experiment mostly was meh aside from Daytona. Ultimately music is subjective so I won’t really argue about the quality or enjoyment of songs with someone that’s their prerogative off of whatever basis they use at the end of the day but I get the desire for greater conversations that are had. I just wish they were always prefaced with this is my opinion not a hard fact lol

i agree the wyoming albums and the 7 song thing wasnt rly that good,e ven daytona i wish was longer.
life after death is great also but if big hadnt died i feel like there are a few tracks id take off, i think the fact that his discog is so limited is the only reason id keep a few tracks. agree with basically everything there ya
I hope you're right op. 12-14 tracks of great music has always been the sweet spot to me.
Runtime always been more important than track amounts to me
But anyway if I like the music idgaf about the track length
you didnt. the old heads at the time did. and you are now the old head of this time. there will be a guy in 2036 saying the same thing. and then a guy will mention it was said 2025 and the other guy will be like nah thats different, 2025 was great nowadays s*** f***ed up. etc
That’s the narrative you want to push but truth is you’re the only one itt pushing this idea like your life depends on it. Most people would agree that the threshold for quality music has gone down this decade. It just is what it is.
Ain’t no 12 song album with 11 good songs man. Stans kill me
Lemonade has 12/12 good songs

You got me confused maybe wit the guy was quoting. I never shat on this generation I said there are dope musicians and creative artist out here but we need to do a better job of calling out wack s***. It’s not a stylistic thing, some of these niggas are just ass even in their respective lane.
What about that is me being an “oldhead”?
Himothee been moving different since he adopted the 2 face avi
He coin flipped to decide between posting this or a "Kendrick makes lazy ass choruses all he does is repeat 2 words over and over" thread
@Himothee look who stole the thread idea

ya cuz using ktt as the subject of ur majority fallacy makes sense
yall r older rap music nerds, im a rap music nerd too but depending on where ur @ and esp the site theres a dif main narrative. my age group of early 20s this isnt rly a common thought. I see it on the internet, sure, but i base the reception of things on what i see irl aswell, actually the disparity is quite huge

ah misread ur s*** my bad twin

Word for word bar for bar LMAOO they gotta be lurking
When a album doesn’t have a concept I literally zone out ngl like my interest in listening to the whole album just isn’t there because I know bruh just doing it for the streams and it’s so blatant sometimes lmao I can’t even rock with it
Nah it’s all good gang because you ain’t all the way wrong lol It’s a part of life I guess. S*** I had a “im unc?” Moment the other day wit one of my younger homies who never heard Days Before Rodeo
Gucci and Curren$y would shatter a lotta perspectives
none of em witnessed the prime mixtape Gucci era and it shows
