i am lowkey bugging now that i'm looking at gkmc tracklist. every song is great except real and compton. i think my perspective is distorted because i had the deluxe version and i perceive black boy fly, now or never, and collect calls as part of the album

I most def agree all those songs are great, I just don't contribute it to people knowing the hooks

I'm in LA so maybe I'm biased but you pull out BDKMV, Backseat Freestyle, Money Trees, Swimming Pools, Maad City, everyone goes crazy, even a decade later. That album has hella longevity and the numbers back it up.

i don't think either of us are talking on knowing the hooks--that's a shallow interpretation or remembrance compared to really digesting the art as a whole and allowing it to influence you. i'm under the impression that people that say they f*** with a song like champion mean that in a way with more depth
