It’s kind of similar in that these people were following someone trying to take the law into their own hands. The actual altercation is different because these guys went guns out whereas Zimmerman shot Trayvon after Trayvon was on top of him and hitting him.
Zimmerman only went free because the prosecution did a terrible job and was pushing hard for murder when they couldn’t prove Zimmerman’s intent, even though manslaughter would have been a slam dunk case.
These guys have only gotten away with it so far because of corrupt local law enforcement. They’re f***ed when it gets escalated beyond that jurisdiction.
