Really hoping that this results in some actual legislation being passed that prevents these incidents from occurring again (ending dumbass neighborhood watch type things, or a law against something like "racist stalking") on the national level
Obvi not gonna happen rn while Trump's still President. This is why btw, if you don't like Biden why he would be 100000x better than Trump. Yes, he wouldn't be anywhere near as good as we could get, but I have no trouble seeing him supporting that type of law.

It is relevant! It's wrong information to make him look more innocent. They said he was killed because of his skin color, but if he was really a burglar, then it isn't race related at all. It was for catching a criminal in action. And Ahmaud fought the guy for his gun.
Here is my take: If he wasn't a burglar, an innocent man died because of racism. Not a huge fan of him trying to fight the man from his gun and I do think it is a poor choice made, since I would probably done it other way if I was in his shoes. But at end of the day, the dad and son killed an innocent man.
If he was a burglar, a man died because he tried stealing another mans gun. They didn't kill an innocent man if that's the case. They killed a robber.
And I do believe the dad and son should face punishment for either case because death should never been the answer to neither one, but I do think they should get a higher punishment for killing an innocent man and milder punishment for killing a robber.

I agree because it gives fuel to the fire that allows racists to make their arguments in favor of the murderers. They can just claim that "the media's out to get those poor white guys."
Whereas, if the 100% truth about the situation is out there, then the racists have nothing to hide their racism behind. They'd have to openly make the argument "if someone steals something they should be tracked and gunned down by civilians"

I think it would be very much so. There would still be people very mad on both sides, but it wouldn't be as cut and dry. It would be a lot easier to see the murderers as being "justified"
