You just sound design or make it compatible with generic formatted presets like anything else...

U cant load real presets into an ai recreation of a real synth. They dont have the same code it just emulates the original

I'm ready for open source/decompiled FL Studio / DAWs

I have so many ideas for new FL Studio features lol

This is what I was immediately thinking of when all the game and Adobe decompiles started

Change the title of this thread to new music technologies or something though lol

    Reason is now free

  • Some of this Vibe coded software be having so many memory leaks, you don't want those problems on your computer

Nah I paid for FL and get free updates but I'm watching it closely to see if niggas start unlocking crazy features lol

I might download it for the f*** of it but you right I wanna see some other reviews on it lol

    what are memory leaks?

  • user

    what are memory leaks?

It's like when applications gradually consume more and more memory on your computer until they crash or get borderline unusable. Now imagine that happening while you're in the middle of a session

If you make the encoding different yeah

Just like digital clones of real life hardware, and a lot of these synth are mostly digital or have a digital mode anyways when you go past the 70s and some of the 80s

There's also huge modding scenes for "real" synth already (which will lend to ai firmware) that expand cards and allow computer interaction

As long as you have the same number of oscillators and voices (of course the mixing and dynamic options matter too for full authenticity) then any sound can be recreated on anything

Yea but making sounds takes time. Its not that ppl dont know how to make sounds its just faster to use presets. Its like using ai to make code its just more efficent

Producer Edition and then crack all the extra s*** they hold out on but if I could go back I'd just buy the highest tier one

Well yeah making music takes time and it's especially true if you're doing stuff from scratch

You can use AI to tell you how to create something if you really want to tho, as in copying a present as long as you can have the same number of voices and oscillators - I sound design and engineer for myself n ppl myself but I actually did this with a combine of reddit and AI few months ago with the synth sound of promiscuous girl chorus part, one of my fav sounds ever (tho I'm not actually gonna use it for anything, and I found where that sound actually came from anyways)

But yeah recreating a true hardware synth into a digital form and having it sound 99% the same has been a thing, just like the open source vst version of the goated Yamaha DX7 called Dexed that also has its og stock sounds n official expansions and how they load n everything. AI doesn't change that outside of you not physically coding it at all or all the way.

Behringer the synth company also makes physical digital versions of iconic and obscure synths n beat machines for cheap and they sound nearly identical as well. So it's a thing too even on a physical box that isn't a PC.

    • But to this point of u, having AI walk you through to recreate presets (or help creating new ones) tho is way easier then recreating a synth, n ppl already been doing that. If you can't or don't have time/know how for sound design.

Claude, recreate Travis Scott’s vocal chain, make no mistakes

Jokes aside it’s interesting seeing what ppl are doing with software here

  • But yeah, reason why stuff like fxp. File type can be played in many synths is because it's the same general encoding base and it's generic these days

Now how the sound comes out depends on the oscillators n voices, but if you have the same number or more, it can sound the same either out the load or with some minor tweaking of options that whatever vst has on as standard

And ai can make is even more standard and "same" if you want it too, it's just code and scripts
