There’s numerous ways to add swing, yes. I just prefer the flexibility of being able to manipulate audio right off the bat.

People still do this no matter what daw. Jane Remover and Porter use FL, yet they drag their samples instead of sequencer.
Alternatively, plenty of ableton people use drum rack as a sequencer replacement. Especially if they prefer working in session view first

Just like digital clones of real life hardware, and a lot of these synth are mostly digital or have a digital mode anyways when you go past the 70s and some of the 80s
There's also huge modding scenes for "real" synth already (which will lend to ai firmware) that expand cards and allow computer interaction
As long as you have the same number of oscillators and voices (of course the mixing and dynamic options matter too for full authenticity) then any sound can be recreated on anything
