usually of cheaper quality and doesnt last as long no matter how hard people try to front. I got s*** from decades ago still in good shape tbh, but to each their own

You’re fooled lol. Expensive items aren’t 10x the price of cheap items because their quality is so much better lol. Levi’s and wranglers are much cheaper than SLP jeans, yet both will outlast SLP jeans 10 fold

Not even into fashion but buying knock offs of limited edition items is definitely kind of lame. If you really want something special that bad just save up for it.

(This is coming from someone who makes fun of consoomer culture all the time too)

My vintage fits from the 90s and my retros still in good shape.

Levi’s and wranglers cool but after washing them s***s it’s hit or miss, seen raw denim last longer but again to each their own

I have Levi’s from like 13 years ago that are the same color, haven’t shrunk, nothing so again, none of that stuff matters. You Pay for the marketing, that’s about it. Most clothes aren’t that special in terms of quality which is why fashion heads debate so much on what’s “real quality” clothing

I don't wear reps but I feel like yall really don't understand how the market works. People can't even have a chance of copping at retail because these hypebeasts and resellers use bots and get most of the stock. So if you want an actual pair, you need to buy it at a ridiculous markup and support these grimy resellers

This "Pull up your bootstraps" mentality is not applicable when it comes to exclusive sneakers

And I had Levi’s that shrunk after like 2-3 washes and had to get rid of them.

Meanwhile I’ve literally copped upscale vintage s*** from the 90s that was made 30 years ago still in good condition.

Idk what to say man lol

Of course it’s about being materialistic. I’m confused, who said it was something else?

But the thing is, as an adult: a person can wear fake everything and no other grown will notice nor care lmao and that seems to trigger some of you. Because I’m telling you, fashion has a lot of quality control issues so it’s near impossible to tell and reps have gotten so niche that you have obscure brands getting repped. Who’s really going to notice your Kapital or Anderson Bell jacket is fake?🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

Exactly. These people don't actually enjoy this as a hobby, if they did they would buy clothing and dress to impress themselves. Not to impress other people.

And I’ve seen people buy Acne jeans that have ripped after 2 wears. Again, the quality isn’t different. You can literally look at the prices of some of these clothes during hype periods and after they’re “out of style” aka Common Projects which was pushing a simple white shoe as the best quality shoe ever for $400 yet now you can find the same shoe for $2-300 with inflation lol. Did the quality drop since it got cheaper? 🤔🤔🤔

The people buying originals are doing it for the same reason though Okay yeah, you got on the Fragment Travis Scott Lows. That could've gone towards tuition or a car, but you'd rather impress other people with what you're wearing

And a nigga buying good quality reps is accomplishing the same thing at a substantially lower price

Ok admittedly I have no idea how this stuff works. Personally not really into fashion, basically whatever is clean and fits well is what I got.

Sounds like this hobby is more of a pissing content than anything else though. Isn't fashion supposed to be about your own style and personality? Sounds like this is just "hey look I got more money than you!".

That’s where context comes into play. Obviously it’s corny to buy reps and pretend that they’re real so that people think you got it like that

But there’s nothing inherently wrong with buying reps. Just depends on how you present yourself afterwards. In sachees videos he’s very against the idea of buying fakes at all. Like for any purpose. I disagree with that.

Some people can’t afford authentic s***. Some people don’t want to pay resale prices.

Especially little kids in middle and high school. You can’t expect them to have multiple thousands to spend on clothes. Let them buy reps, it’s not like there’s a huge drop off in quality anymore.
And if the argument is that it’s bad that they’re buying them to fit in. Then everyone needs to take a step back and remember how badly they wanted to fit in as teenagers too. That’s just part of growing up.

Sachee says desire is knowing what you want while not having the means to get it. He calls it the most important part of fashion. This is a foreign concept to anyone with bread. There isn’t anything you want that you can’t just buy. It’s also now a foreign concept to him as he now says he’s at the point where he can get anything he wants. So doesn’t he also lack desire? Isn’t his style longer evolving according to his own rules?

Just reading too much into it. I been collecting shoes for decades, buying designer for over a decade, the only thing that ever stopped me from buying reps was quality. The quality gap is shrinking so it just makes sense now.

I can’t speak on that cuz some of the brands you name just don’t appeal to me lol

I’m just talkin bout from my personal experience, my Givenchy jackets, Sergio Tacchini fits, Jeff Hamilton NBA championship jackets etc

All my stuff is still good after 20-30 years.

Those were good purchases for me personally

We’ve all taken a wrong turn here and there. Made a left when we should have made. C’est la vie. Go easy on our ktt brother. If not us who will?

  • I don’t f*** with reps but man I can’t take fast fashion and fit pics serious. and yeah working hard to buy a pair of shoes or any clothing is dumb as f***.

Yeah, the scene is very materialistic and focused on flexing what you have. I find it so embarrassing and cringe when I go to a raffle and everyone's wearing their hyped sneakers for some reason It can be raining and mfs whipped out their suede 4s just to get a ticket and hear numbers being called

Instant gratification f***ing y’all brains up

Niggas want a $300+ piece and can’t afford it so they buy a fake for an 8th of the price and look swagless cause they haven’t built up the style to wear it

Go thrifting, find alternatives, find your swag, get your money up so you don’t look lame flexing your fake clothes

Honestly my main problem with the video is that he’s talking about kids having to hustle to get what they want but like when we were in middle school and high school we didn’t have these bots and resellers around f***ing the game up
