thegreatdivineIt makes no sense for Drake's camp to send it to Akademiks to build hype. Drake has never done that before and it makes no sense for him to start doing that now. That theory never made sense and it still doesn't make sense.
Most likely, the Kyle dude just made this and tagged all of Drake's people so they could see it and acknowledge his work. Many other graphic designers and illustrators have done the same in the past. It's nothing new.
Akademiks saw it and posted it like it came from Drake camp, again, clout-chasing like he always does.
I’m not saying you’re right or wrong but actually Drake’s team has sent artwork to an outside internet source to post and build hype before. They sent the photo of Drake in the ski mask in the snow to Viet for him to post here. That photo doesn’t exist anywhere else on the net. It’s not music artwork but still it’s a similar concept.

I mean honestly there's no reason for you to believe that's not what happened.... yes your group chat / burner account theory is technically a possibility as well, but I don't see why that is a more credible or likely theory than it being sent directly to Viet.
He cultivates discussions on the biggest, most concentrated Drake-focused fanbase on the internet. I know we joke about Viet being on OVO payroll but it would make a ton of sense and be a brilliant move by them. He helps keep core fans engaged, excited and involved. To spoon him out a little piece of exclusive hype to give to us would just make sense, and it checks out.

I genuinely don't think Viet puts all the time, energy and effort into this community without collecting a bag here and there for it. It's an internet marketing strategy for relatively short money on OVO's part that would allow them to have an ear to the thoughts and feelings of their biggest fans. If they don't have Viet on retainer as their 'Internet Community Specialist' they're dumb af, honestly.
