The Final Draft unveils a new ending to the layered story of Alan Wake, sure to spark speculation and theories among our dedicated fans. Additionally, there is new lore to be found in the form of a few new videos and manuscript pages that have been added to New Game Plus experience, along with other subtle additions.
interesting, I wonder what the subtle additions will be
Players will retain all weapons, Charms and character upgrades earned during their first playthrough. They should come in handy when you seek the ultimate challenge of trying out the new Nightmare Difficulty level. Brace yourselves for intensified enemies, strategic gameplay, and an adrenaline-pumping experience that will push your skills to the limit.
sounds like nightmare difficulty is designed for how strong you’ll be in ng+ love that
Note: You will find your unlocked weapons in the first available shoebox for the character. This means that you don’t start New Game Plus with the weapons already in your inventory.
This update also includes numerous bug fixes and slight performance optimizations. Stay tuned for the complete update notes, which will be released next Monday.
Unlock Criteria: To access the New Game Plus mode and fully experience “The Final Draft”, a completed playthrough of Alan Wake 2 is required.
So, mark your calendars! “The Final Draft” update is scheduled to launch on Monday, December 11th, 2023, at 10am PT / 1pm ET / 8pm Helsinki time across all platforms.
Okay so I'm probably in the wrong here but my gf and I started Alan Wake 2; the opening cutscene shows the guy getting mutilated by the cult and extracting his heart for some ritual
Then the following gameplay is an extensive FBI investigation with an entire clue system on a "mystery" that was already shown to us
I know a large portion of the game is just supernatural stuff but where's the mystery part? I adore the Twin Peaks-esque atmosphere but seeing the RE4-type gameplay trailers & playing the game so far is boring me
Does it pick up?

The main mystery for most of the game turns into who the cult are and what they’re doing. Plus there’s the whole what’s happening to Alan thing, get to the first Alan chapter and you should be gripped.

There’s a lot going on… the mystery is far beyond the murder being investigated
So have they announced how to get the new ending yet? Is it just a NG+ ending or do you have to do something specific, i’m gonna start my NG+ when I get home.
