I tried to see Random Access Memories as a masterpiece. I appreciate some of the songs and the amazing sound mixing, but Discovery is far better. IMO Homework is better too. Not sure how I would rank Human After All or RAM in comparison.
RAM is better than Human After All but yeah I agree Discovery then Homework are their top 2

Top tier: Doin It Right, Contact
Good tier: Motherboard, Get Lucky, Instant Crush, Lose Yourself to Dance, Give Life Back To Music
Middle tier: Touch (some sections are corny), Giorgio by Moroder (low replay value)
Bottom tier: Fragments of Time, Beyond, Within, The Game of Love
4 instaskips on a 13 song album Their take on the adult contemporary rock stuff just wasnt that good IMO. Those bottom 4 songs are barely memorable. The musicianship is top notch but the songwriting isn't special there and the robot voice is kind of like a bad DP parody
Now you’re lost
Lost in the heat of it all
ima be in my versace buttercream silk shirt in my 60s spinning this s*** for the lil ones

Discovery is inarguably their best work and its not even close. RAM is a fun album though
Tha Carter II is universally recognized as a classic, to say that it’s all of the sudden not a classic because of your arbitrary standards is bait
it’s akin to me saying something like Michael Jackson can’t sing, it’s not even worth engaging with further

Crazy how redditors and rock critics overrate RAM tbh

Listening to Saturation 3 today and it hasn't really aged that well but I still fw it
Channel orange cause blonde/endless are just so much better
😣 endless isn’t better than CO
I think most ppl will feel this way abt Freudian if they revisit it
I never thought it was alll that lol
GRODT aged like dogshit
i’ve heard a few people with this take and i played it recently and it still hit to me
Let me preface this by saying these are still pretty good to listen to, I’m just not nearly as high on them as when I first listened.
The Cool
Carter 2
Channel Orange
they always say classics have to withstand the test of time and for me, these just stayed in the past. If I were to try to listen today, I’d probably still vibe but back when these dropped , you couldn’t tell me these weren’t timeless works I’d always hold in that light.
Time keeps on slippin slippin I guess
Bro you went 0/3
Ventura too
hurt me personally with these two posts
but i also don't think most people are calling those classics (just yet)

Do u have nostalgia attached to it? Personally I don’t cuz I started really engaging with music around like 06
