Criminal investigations take a lot of work and care, these Youtubers don't have a clue. They like to pretend they're doing good work but they almost always just cause headaches.

This is actually double for shows like To Catch A Predator, because they're already predisposed to be state actors (their intent is that they'll give all evidence to the cops), so a lot of those cases have died out in court or never even reached the prosecutor's office.
