chibuyeIn SA, among the house loving community. Everyone has their own idea about what is right. There's a whole section of house lovers who absolutely refuse to listen or even entertain amapiono as a genre. Same thing happened with gqom but at lease amapiano seems to have beaten that. Like I'm glad amapiano is receiving the blessings from Cassper, from Oskido, and some other old heads.
The youngsters will always do what the youngsters will but the guidance and blessings from the old heads is what really shoots a genre to the top. Amapiano is undeniable and South African house community has to lend it it's support, or it will go the same way as gqom or anything that came before it.
I hate that the trap rappers are doing amapiano now iscefe(irritating).

it's only natural, the hip hop scene kind of survived the gqom wave but very few saw how amapiano was going to take over the scene. Now everyone is fighting for their lives to be relevant again. But you right

Why can't they evolve their scenes instead of hopping on to every wave. It tells the quality isn't there. I feel like SA has so much space for many different genres to be at the top but people tend to give up easily because they aren't coming with the quality.
That's why the djs are at the top because they know they have to outdo themselves all the time.

Imagine if the fully filled the void that we get from international artists with quality music that's on par with them only the house and dance djs can compete with the international market everyone else is not even close by a longshot.

I find that amapiano producers are adding a deep house element to their sound and this is very present in the private school piano . I hope you guys like it

When i made this mix i was just thinking about watching waves with a lover but listening back it's something you can play for valentines. I put a bunch of ballads in this but still sprinkled in some bangers .The track selection is very Ntokzin heavy with tracks which have a bit of similar flavour in log drum tone

This mix is primarily for the private school yanos from the the godfather of private school piano Djy Jaivane . This mix comprises of tunes mostly from his record label Simnandi records . A good introduction to this style of amapiano is to listen to Djy Jaivane’s xpensive collections, i love the "Dj Jaivane July Birthday mix" a lot .You can find them on YouTube and on streaming platforms. My favorite artists from their roster past and present are record L Jones, Spizzy , Amu Classic ,Muziqal Tone, Young Stunna, Lee Mckrazy etc .Young Stunna started out here before blowing up so he is on a bunch of their compilation albums .
