Did you guys think the gore was necessary in this show?
Definitely. The games were gory too

The games are low res. The show is realistic gore. I never found it intense enough to really justify it.

Yea they’re low res but the idea is still there. You can see the guys entrails and everything. Also the 3d games are gory too (maybe to a lesser degree)
Idk it wasn’t something that stood out to me too much

Yes, that looks like a video game. It doesn't look like actual gore. I really never felt like I was getting anything out of it in the show. I'm not squeamish either. It just felt tonally out of sync.

Now that I think of it, I just remembered the head squishing scene felt like a little much lol but other than that idk I didn’t think much of it

I wouldn't blink at that stuff in Game of Thrones. Just like once or twice an episode it felt like it was needlessly graphic relative to what I was actually getting out of the show. Which admittedly wasn't much.

Between The Boys, Invincible, and this it feels like random gore is one of the telling signs you’re watching an Amazon Prime show lol
Not that I have anything against violence and gore in media. It’s fun to watch

That must be it. I don't think it's really a Jonathan Nolan thing. I guess it's more the house style. I don't mind it any of those though.

I enjoyed how over the top it was. Had a few genuine moments.

Y'all never played Fallout 3?
They look like video games
If you haven't noticed, the show doesn't look realistic too

The gore does, which was my entire point!

I didn’t think so. I loved everything about this show except the gore. Almost stopped watching after the first episode because I’m just not trying to see that s***. Never found it enticing or attractive. Serial killer type s*** if you enjoy that
