GrenouilleThe Hobbit as a novel was actually a children’s book - both jaunty and lighter in content than The LOTR and The Simarillion. Jackson took that source material and stretched it out, implementing Hollywood tropes (e.g. Legolas, Kate from Lost as the Elf, and the Dwarf love triangle) to milk a cash cow.
This show is based on stronger source material, with a serious budget.
Amazon paid $250m solely for the rights, and it’s expected the first season budget will be $100-150m. For comparison, GOT S1 had a budget of around $60m.
That does sound promising but I’m still not expecting much tbh guess we’ll wait and see.

Bruh, past GoT. If the story is good for the nerds but the characters are good for non-nerds, this would be another international phenomenon and welcome edition to the LotR saga, arguably making it the greatest story of all time.
