There’s definitely a lot of racist s*** going on with the reaction since day one though which you basically admit. Problems with “modernization”, casting choices, going too “PC”/“pandering to the left” etc are all obvious examples. It not being lore accurate is a separate argument in its own
First time I've seen the term "blackwashing" 😂😂.
They're so mad
Interesting..
season 1 sounds like its gonna be very slow and mostly setup all the characters so i wonder how much the general audience will love this tbh
the insane hate train against it with all the comments and dislikes and s*** is insane but im expecting the reviews to be pretty good
return of the king extended in cinema next week to end the trilogy rewatch on the big screen then this the next day

The comment sections of the trailers is some of the most unhinged s*** I’ve ever seen. It’s really deranged how people see fantasy and escapism
The Hobbit trilogy isn't good? Damn. I was hoping to watch it
I wouldn't say it's bad overall, there's just some cringy fan fic quality stuff they added to extend it into 3 movies worth
Not to mention they try to lord of the ringsify the story as far as making it an action packed epic which leads to some bad inclusions of characters like Legolas and some of the fight scenes are like watching someone play a video game
That said if you liked the lord of the rings it's def worth a watch

How are they already s***ting on something that hasn’t even dropped
How do you spend $1b on an entire season for a tv show? I know it’s a drop in the bucket for Amazon, but still. I just find it hard to believe more than 70% of the alleged budget funds actually went into production for the show. Somebody was/is definitely swiping more than a few bills off the top.

I think the 1b number is for multiple seasons.
The real budget for 1 season is like 200-300 million

That would make a lot more sense.
Haven’t watched the LOTR movies in maybe 10-12 years now. But when I did I watched them all at once, back to back to back. I remember thinking it was very mediocre tbh. I tried reading one of the books too, all I can remember is there was an entire passage or 2 where he’s just describing the grass. It was just too much for 14-15 year old me.
My cousin absolutely loves LOTR, I just could never see the hype. Tried YouTube lore videos, even those ain’t do nothing for me. I can appreciate the world building and how deep the lore goes, that’s about it. Hopefully the show will be able to do something for me.
I trust Gaiman, might take shot at the first episode.
Also can't wait to read the comparisons between this and HotD

S*** is literally labeled as “fantasy”
Giant birds and spiders, magic, dwarves, dragons, but a black character?
No, the line needs to be drawn somewhere.
Do we have any impressions from people who have only a passing interest in LOTR aka non-Tolkien stans?

Actual reviews dropping 31 aug iirc
The comments are crazy. The losers are in full force against this one
