Sincerely himThere is a difference between pacing issues, and just flat out unlikeable characters.
Elrond - Boring
Galadriel - Unlikeable
Arondir and the white woman + b****** child - Holy s*** so boring and unlikeable
Halbrand - Generic brooding bad guy that really is a good guy at heart (boring)
The entire Harfoots story - Please no moreDurin + his family and the meteor man are the only somewhat interesting pieces on this show.
But yeah, the pacing is doing it no favors either.. Combine both of those and you get an entirely mid show
I can't stress enough. Likeable characters shouldn't matter to anyone. It's interesting or not interesting. I think that's what u meant
I really was in a LOTR mood but mane most of these plot don't do it for me
I swear to God, I could have came up with better storyline or at least better execution of them
Pacing is f***ing ridiculous

Facts these bland characters make all the dialogue scenes a snooze, I couldnt even tell you one characters personality over the other cuz none really stand out from eachother lol

Having watched 4 full episodes and falling asleep on 5th I still can't even tell you any characters names besides galadriel and elrond, ND that's only because I remember them from the trilogy 😂😂😂

lolWhat else is there? Both are adaptations of fantasy books and implementing black actors to traditionally blonde blue eyed ppl In the books. Only other difference could be tolkeins work being older so possibly having a older/more racist fanbase but old ppl aren't on the internet review bombing all day
Hotd has the characters, ppl react to characters and their behaviors/actions and the characters are what keep ppl invested in watching, that's why every ep sets Twitter ablaze. Lotr show just has a massive budget with generic characters running around doing stuff. All the special effects in the world won't make up for that

Actually you’re right, most of the characters on GOT the entire time were completely unlikeable but the way the characters were developed was 10/10
Same with Succession, everyone on there is a POS.
But you’re right, it’s just bland. This show is bland

It's following a blueprint from the silmarillion as far as the lore goes but nothing super explicit story wise I believe
