!https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Tx2LKHnLszcyeah doesn't really work with the ending we got
Okay, so like... I loved this finale. Just want to get that out of the way. I cried like 4x. All those Jimmy x Kimmy moments were so f***ing powerful
As some constructive criticism: one thing I am a little confused about is exactly what Jimmy did to exonerate Kim / get that civil case heat off of her with his testimony. When Walt was intentionally exonerating Skylar on the phone he went ham and made it very clear (falsely) that she had not partaken willingly. It seems like a big part of Jimmy eating the 86 years was to save Kim, but he didn't really seem to do that?? Or maybe I missed something. Sure, he didn't implicate her or give the DA anything else, but I fail to see what he did to get Howard's wife off of her back
Is he just hoping that if someone takes the fall with his 86 years then Mrs. Hamlin will just feel enough justice has been had? Maybe I need to rewatch idk idk
my prediction…it will go to full color with Gene representing himself as Saul Goodman, embracing his true self as Chuck said he would respect him more if he stopped with the guilt…and then the show cuts out. That’s Saul’s happy ending. Being himself.
I just didn’t expect to see good ol’ Jimmy again. ending has grown on me since reflecting on it. It’s a sad and happy ending in a way. It does give character redemption but it still doesn’t gloss over the flaws and tragedy. him acknowledging he did Chuck dirty for the first time was really the thing that won me over. Bittersweet closure. I’m glad they also kept the man hunt for him at a minimum.

Need this answered myself
anyone found the finale similar to the shield except the shield was more nihilistic?

I watched the Shield years ago on Hulu

They are so similar fam, like it would mirror them if Saul screwed Kim and accepted the 7 years deal. Vic ends basically like Gene by the end of the series and him taking the gun suggests withdrawals and no signs of redemption.
Shane kills himself and his family while Kim tries to live with what she done. I love it despite being so negative but it always felt incomplete unlike this one.

why the f*** the spoilers don't work
When you watch Breaking bad, was he really the mastermind or main factor behind Walter Whites actions or success? Not in my opinion
This episode "Breaking Bad" set the time for that
I believe that the whole point of the finale wasn’t that he confessed for Kim but that Saul finally did the right thing and told the truth. He could’ve gotten away with it and gotten out in 7 years but would’ve continued living the lie he was miserable doing in all those flash forward scenes
Kim was also living a miserable life having to keep up with the lie and once she found out that she can confess without putting Saul in danger she did so she could free herself
Saul is doing the same job in jail he was doing at Cinnabon but is happier because although he’s locked up he’s free not having to worry about getting caught in his lies
I think him learning Kim confessed willing to accept whatever consequence it came with helped him do the same. His confessions just came with harsher consequences
TLDR: Saul “broke good” at the end instead of cutting corners again and taking the easy way out
this is the take that makes everything make sense
perfectly said
Nah, ending on the scene prior implies they're back together in some way, as if she'll just keep visiting him and s*** for years.
Ending where we do illustrates the distance that still exists between them, and pretty much tells us that's that for them - that chapter of Kim's life is behind her, she walks away on her own terms, into her own future.
Don't quite agree. That implication is just a leap. He's in prison for life and she's not. The distance is an unavoidable fact.
We don't know if she'll ever visit him again or not. That chapter of her life is behind her, regardles of him being in prison or not. She left him years ago. Her walking away/moving on on her terms was when she came clean about Howard.
And, personally I don't think that was the look of two people who will never speak again. 40 odd years of life is a long time.
