That’s why it’s in quotes. Black is a color in a crayon box, not a nation or bloodline. The census misclassified melanated people as “black”, “colored”, “mullato”

I disagree with this. Black people are people who are descendants from a specific region in Africa.

I am African American, my ancestors are from west Africa. I consider myself a black person

Idk about that but I’ll bring a historical perspective

Obviously it’s a widely known fact columbus didn’t “discover” the new world by now

We know the vikings were in present day canada and east coast US a thousand years ago and set up settlements. We have their coins as proof

We also known polynesians made it to pacific coast areas of the new world. We have dna proof of this, as well as presence of fruits that are only native to polynesia present

As far as africans, there are several “journey” stories from western african coastal kingdoms of fleets trying to reach “a land to the west” we know this was north america and the caribbean. What we don’t know is if they made it, we also don’t have any material evidence necessarily but the distance from the most western tip of africa to the shortest land in the west distance wise, which is the eastern coast of brazil isnt THAT incredibly far.

Something I learned in my history classes and studies is that We have a tendency to over simplyfy ancient peoples. I mean romans were aware of Chinese empires and traded for crying outloud. It isn’t implausible to say some african encountered the new world prior to columbus like other groups.

We just need to have stronger material proof to bare it out which we dont so far but history is massive think of all the civilizations and peoples we have no idea of. Just the few remains they leave behind

Native Americans are a broad group of people don't think singling em all into "black" would be right.

We’re not native American either. We’re Moors by bloodline. I found out a couple years ago Native American according to old dictionaries (words change meaning thru time) just means born in America. It’s confusing I know. That was done by design to muddy the waters in modern times

U disagree with the black thing. That’s cool. Africans aren’t black. U have a nation. There no nation called black. Black means “dead of rights” according to Blacks Law Dictionary 1800s. All melanated people have been misclassified

This means that the trail of tears were committed on what u would call “black people”..so not only were my family forced into servitude, their land was stolen on top of that. Pretty big issue for people who look like me

So basically what you’re arguing is that race doesn’t exist?

I feel that but I also disagree some of it at the same time too if you know what I mean

  • Apr 13, 2021

Dont forget that the whole all people of color in America were considered black is really just a way white people put all colored people in a monolith. Just cos i might be the same color as someone else doesn't mean that im the same race or ethnicity

I know african American is a ethnic term that relates to a specific cultural group but the older i get the more i realized how s***ty the name is lmao

I mean the average african American has ancestry in the states going further back than most whites lol and we don’t call joe biden a “european american” even tho his grandad came from like ireland lol

Im african so like i dnt mind the name and thinks it’s good cus it forms a connection between black people but it’s kinda insane to be called african anything when your ancestors left centuries ago lol

I dont think native americans would appreciate hearing african americans claim it is their ancestral land. Furthermore by claiming that black people are ancestral to the USA you are basically denying the genocide of the transatlantic slave trade happening. Why even engage in such alternative history?

Nah..it’s just that black is the wrong term. We use it when speaking of copper colored ppl as a whole for tor the sake of conversation & easy understanding

I know someone IRL that believes in this and he tried to explain to me that siberians are sellouts that colluded with white people to replace their identity
