Nah..it’s just that black is the wrong term. We use it when speaking of copper colored ppl as a whole for tor the sake of conversation & easy understanding
So then what would you call the people who we refer to today as “black”
I dont think native americans would appreciate hearing african americans claim it is their ancestral land. Furthermore by claiming that black people are ancestral to the USA you are basically denying the genocide of the transatlantic slave trade happening. Why even engage in such alternative history?
Exactly. And lets say we ignore genetic ancestry. Lets speak on culture. There is a DEEP imprint of west african culture in the new world. Whether its south america, Caribbean, central America or north america there is a major west african influence in dance, music, food and language, even religion too.
WHEN ALL THE WORLD WAS ONE PIECE, the black man and woman walked across each continent and settled.

There are South Asians, Polynesians, Aborigines far darker than some people who would be considered "black" in the USA. Does that mean they are the same group as black Americans?
What's the point in all this? What do you gain from saying this stuff?
Having dark skin by itself doesn't mean your relatively recent (~2000 years ago) ancestry was African.
Idk about that but I’ll bring a historical perspective
Obviously it’s a widely known fact columbus didn’t “discover” the new world by now
We know the vikings were in present day canada and east coast US a thousand years ago and set up settlements. We have their coins as proof
We also known polynesians made it to pacific coast areas of the new world. We have dna proof of this, as well as presence of fruits that are only native to polynesia present
As far as africans, there are several “journey” stories from western african coastal kingdoms of fleets trying to reach “a land to the west” we know this was north america and the caribbean. What we don’t know is if they made it, we also don’t have any material evidence necessarily but the distance from the most western tip of africa to the shortest land in the west distance wise, which is the eastern coast of brazil isnt THAT incredibly far.
Something I learned in my history classes and studies is that We have a tendency to over simplyfy ancient peoples. I mean romans were aware of Chinese empires and traded for crying outloud. It isn’t implausible to say some african encountered the new world prior to columbus like other groups.
We just need to have stronger material proof to bare it out which we dont so far but history is massive think of all the civilizations and peoples we have no idea of. Just the few remains they leave behind
Yea. We are seafarers just like our ancestors in Egypt & our ancestors in Phoenicia. Earth is a copper colored planet. First settlers of the world

Melanin is genetic so technically I am related to them. I get my dark skin from my mother & my mother’s mother & so on. It matters to ppl like me so i can reclaim my culture & fix my nation status. I’m not the only one. I’m in talks with ppl now to gain tangibles. I’m Not just talking, I’m doing the work irl too
I know african American is a ethnic term that relates to a specific cultural group but the older i get the more i realized how s***ty the name is lmao
I mean the average african American has ancestry in the states going further back than most whites lol and we don’t call joe biden a “european american” even tho his grandad came from like ireland lol
Im african so like i dnt mind the name and thinks it’s good cus it forms a connection between black people but it’s kinda insane to be called african anything when your ancestors left centuries ago lol
that's not really true tho. most black ppl in the U.S are here because of slavery and have the last name of a slave owner.
i don't know where you're getting this information
Native Americans are a broad group of people don't think singling em all into "black" would be right.

Going off this and what I remember from California history. Most Native American groups where scattered. It was one big empire, one of the reasons it was easy for the whites to conquer.
So assuming Africans did make it to the western land, basing it off Cubans/Dominicans/etc. they could have made it to Florida.
With Manifest pushing natives to the West I can see how Africans who became intertwined with native Americans.
Which is how we get darker skinned natives. But to say every native is black/dark skinned then that’s kinda too out there
