    Synopsis

their propensity for asserting s*** without evidence is really quite the talent lol. like, all these studies i'm reading don't say s*** about inherent nature but more about how we perceive status or whatever. to draw the conclusion from that, that hierarchies are natural and or necessary is wild to me.

not to mention luxurywhip just deadass lurking this thread begging someone to reply to him

    c'mon man

i don't really care bro. adjust your frame of thinking; that's all i have to say. i couldn't care less where you fall on the political spectrum, just stop falsely equivocating and b******izing the good work that has nothing to do with what you want it to mean.

One thing I was always vocal about on this forum is the dangers of ideology and how it creates echo chambers that drive people down toxic rabbit holes. You're accusing me of the thing I avoid the most. That's why I don't subscribe to any ideology, nor do I care where I land on the left-right spectrum. I wrote this a few days ago, and I still stand by it:

So when I interpret some information differently from you, how about assuming that I know something you don't. Or maybe try and explain to me where I'm wrong. Instead, you assume I'm trying to misrepresent studies to further some ideological goal when in reality, I try to avoid that at all costs.

    c'mon man

What does this have to do with the social hierarchies anarchists or slcialists in general are arguing against?

The social hierarchies these studies are talking about have nothing to do with state power or worker-capitalist social relations, so why even bring them up?

"...inherent to the definition of a social hierarchy is the stratified ranking of group members along a valued dimension..."

The valued dimension can be anything, depending on the context, but it's still a social hierarchy at the end of the day and should be treated as such.

that’s literally what you did my g. you’re misrepresenting sapolsky’s studies on stress psychology and physiology. you’re using scientific studies that have nothing to do with what youre talking about to fit your narrative.

i've read jordan peterson get a whole lotta flak for misunderstanding the philosophy he talks about. so i guess it's not that coincidental his fans would do similar s***.

I said it depends on the context, but it doesn't matter what the thing being valued is, it's still a social hierarchy.

There's this concept in computer science called inheritance, which basically means that you can represent different classes with an abstract class describing their commonalities. Hierarchies of state power, wealth, whatever it is that's of value, inherit the properties of a social hierarchy. There's no point in making a distinction between politicians competing for office and cavemen competing for females when the neural mechanisms driving that behavior are the same.

Your whole shtick is getting rid of inequality, all I'm saying is you can't because social hierarchies are unequal by definition and they are a part of how we perceive the world. Wanna get rid of wealth inequality at the cost of a bigger state? Sure, but there's a debate to be had if that's desirable. Wanna get rid of both wealth inequality AND the state? Good luck with that man.

there's no narrative, I'm trying to be objective here

If you can't or won't show me how I'm misrepresenting anything, then don't expect your accusations to hold any merit.

I didn't mention Jordan Peterson even once, so this is highly irrelevant and an ad hominem attack.

simply put you cite sapolskys work as a human nature argument against these ideas when his work was never designed to study human nature.

There's no point in discussing this with people who are deeply possessed by their ideology. Yours and their value system differ so much that you're never going to reach an agreement.

They probably got screwed by life in some way, and now they're resentful. Their ideology gives them something to blame for their shortcomings, and that gives them comfort. Communists are basically the losers of economics

Instead of having this back and forth on a Kanye West forum, enjoy your life and acknowledge the fact that they already lost. A meteor wiping us all out is more likely than a communist revolution succeeding in the west lmao
