Anarchism is a wide school of political and philosophical thought which holds a very basic common principle, going back to the intellectual revolutions of Continental Europe during the Enlightenment, which could be argued to spring out of humans naturally:

Any and all forms of authority, coercion, domination, and otherwise forceful actions have upon them a burden of proof. They must prove that they are indeed legitimate, that the people need it, and then the people must agree to the extent of it's domination. If it cannot be proven to be legitimate, no matter it's source or origin, it must be dismembered. Whether it be in the school, family, workplace, political society, the burden of proof is always on a person or force which attempts to force its own designs or agenda upon the person.

Anarchism is quite simply the idea that society should be a voluntary endeavor consisting of free association between individuals without need for any hierarchies, artificial orders and structures, or subordination to external authority. The goal is of the strain of thought is not to show why this is true--but we will go over that here--but to work on how such a society can be arrived at, how consciousness can be made ready for it, and how it can be made stable and permanent, which if it works should be the case.

s/o to MalcolmFlex from KTT I copy + pasted his OP.

Yeah, Marx was a documented anti-Semite and racist but his teachings can still be interpreted without that.

I find myself in a weird spot as a leftist, I sympathize with both the teachings of OG Marxism and Anarchism but idk what I really am.

I really disagree with a lot of authoritarian leftists (MLs, maoists, etc.)

When I take those political quizzes, I tend to get into the bracket of Libertarian Socialist which seems synonymous with a traditional Anarchist.

True, reading it in some their works is just mad cringe worthy tho

God & the State was a very eye opening read for me.

I wouldn't worry about labeling yourself anything specific.

Libertarian Socialism is kind of its own thing, although it is an anti authoritarian, anti-statist mode of thought, it can also include libertarian Marxists.

EZLN has been going strong for over 20 years. Before now I would have said Catalonia is what Anarchists hold with most value but EZLNs growth in size, "structure" & general ideology is really admirable tbh.

And guess what? They're not killing each other 24/7. The shock. Didn't know humans could posses such capabilities without a state.

im proud of them and how long they have resisted both the Mexican state and narcos trying to butt in

they have a stable society, along with their own celebrations and festivals for various positive things such as feminism/art/music

    insightcrime.org/news/analysis/how-mexicos-guerrilla-army-stayed-clear-of-organized-crime

The disincentive for the EZLN to mix itself up in criminal activity is just as strong. The Calderon administration’s security strategy has given the government a powerful policy narrative to justify dismantling d*** traffickers’ community control. If provoked, the state could easily turn it against the Zapatistas.

Their eschewal of crime is due largely to the fact that the EZLN is not a traditional guerrilla army. After their initial uprising in 1994, and the resulting San Andres peace accords in 1996, the group has largely refrained from illegal activity. Instead, they have become more of a grassroots social movement, establishing EZLN-affiliated autonomous communities in Chiapas and attempting to link far left community organizations throughout the country under the banner of a nationwide movement called the “Other Campaign.”

eh he specified in his work that society would move beyond prejudice and that all humans equal i wouldn’t say his prejudices affected his actual treatment of people to the extent that his work can be discredited
