What the f*** type of logic is this
Thats like saying Black Thought cant be top 10 cause of The Roots
Come on bro you used the worst example lol
The Love Below is a solo album. Without the Love Below we might not have albums like 808s and Heartbreak that influenced this era so much
Who cares about a solo rap album, when he's got more GOAT level verses than most rappers.
Andre is artistic. But he's also made some of the most mainstream hip hop songs too - Hey Ya, So Fresh So Clean, Ms Jackson. He's not some cult rapper for artstistc snobs lol
"But he's also made some of the most mainstream hip hop songs too - Hey Ya, So Fresh So Clean, Ms Jackson. "
I aint know So Fresh So Clean and Ms. Jackson were solo Andre songs.

Except the Roots is a band + Black Thought and Malik B (who rest his soul, had some powerful renegades during his lifetime but ultimately, just like Q Tip, Black Thought was doing majority of the heavy lifting. Admittedly Malik having addiction problems didn't help. His "What Goes On" verse is one of my favorite verses of all time)
Everything outside the status quo opinions is bait to yall
Ktt just parrots the same 15 talking points to fit in
You haf a decent point but your post fell apart as it went on

Sometimes I think people should just list Wu Tang, Tribe, Outkast, Public Enemy, Mobb Deep, Three 6 etc. in their top 10 lists.
If you asked someone for rock GOATs they wouldn't separate Bob Dylan and the Beatles into 2 different lists.
I get it's tradition, but sometimes I think it means GOATs like Chuck D get a bit underappreciated in these conversations

Black has a solo career btw plus he’s the only emcee in The Roots
Debatable but for sure most people who put him like top 3 don’t actually listen to any of his material

i'd write the same thing if we were talking about Andre.
My point was that he's not just arty rapper. He does both. Part of why he's up there. Or Outkast as a whole if you want to count them as one

Emceeing is different. You're ranked based on your individual skill. When ppl mentioned Andre being a goat they are referencing his verses
Let me simplify this question for you and everyone else in the thread:
If Andre's top 10 why is Big Boi also not top 10?
Someone explain in detail.
I feel like to me Andre is a little bit more introspective, his flow and cadences are more interesting, and he’s more versatile in what he does vocally. Big Boi is a great too. He has some really good post outkast work.
I’m not using this as a comparison to s*** on Big Boi, because he is much much better than Talib Kweli, but for example with Black Star, Mos Def was just more versatile and interesting than Kweli, and I think Andre is similar in comparison to Big Boi, but Big Boi of course is on a way higher level than a Kweli.
But on southernplayalistic I really think Big Boi interestingly enough was better.

Because Big Boi is not as talented a rapper as Andre
Simple as that.
Big Boi is dope but Andre is one of the greatest to ever touch the mic

That's true. But when I look at most top ten lists it feels like so many other things like making songs, albums and how iconic they are is all considered too.
Most people are not making their lists based on verses, even if they should be
You're making a different argument. No one is saying Andre 3k exists without big boi.
We are saying they are two different types of rappers and ppl like what Andre 3k does more lol
Why is that such a foreign concept?
You think that Jay Z, Nas, Eminem and Lil Wayne all naming Andre top 5 Is becsuse they hate Big Boi or dont listen to enough Big boi or do you genuine think they look at what Andre 3k has done and realized that s*** is alien like and can't be replicated
F*** KTT are you saying that other goats are biased toward Dre?
And one of the things that @op said that is correct (he did put a lot of bait tho) is that a lot of casuals do like him because of his awkward "weird/introvert" personality that gets people on his side moreso than Big Boi who just ya normal nigga from the South.
Which does leads to a lot of casuals overlooking.
I could make a good case that Eminem and Lil Wayne definitely haven't listened to Sir Lucious Left Foot: The Son of Chico Dusty or a good portion of Big Boi's solo catalog. But yeah, from a technical standpoint they can like Andre because yeah, what he doing is something that can't be replicated.

He out-rapped a pre-woke Killer Mike that was known to be a feature killer during that time on Stankonia bro.
Southernplayalistic he definitely was the better of the 2.
some people say insane s*** because they divorce the context of the artist. liiiiiiikkkkkkkeeeee mmmmaaaaayyyyyybbbbbeeee if you gathered every rapper in a room had them all wear masks or something and you got someone who's never heard rap music before blindfolded them and asked them to pick out their favorites then maaaayyyyyyybbbbbeeeee he doesn't crack top 15...
BUT UHHHH thank god thats not the case and everybody on the planet loves 3 stacks and youre the type that probably gets into heated discussions about why lebron is better than michael. YEAH YEAH WE'VE ALL HEARD THE ARGUMENTS NOW SHUT UP WHILE I WATCH BULLS HIGHLIGHTS AND BANG B.O.B
I just say if I did my personal list of top 10, I'd have to put him with Outkast just cause, I listen to him on Outkast more than I do to his features (which are great, I just don't listen to his features that often)
As far as individual skills as far as Atlanta goes?
Top 3: Cee Lo. Andre. Big Boi.
In that order.

Be honest. Do you think Big and Dre on are the exact same level?
List making is the lowest form of discourse
Also, Fewtch wanted to sound like 3 Stacks when he came out
List making on KTT? You get a pass for dat
