sad post
I'll admit part of my issue with Ghibli works is I'm not a big fan of anime movies I feel like they never have enough time to flesh out things enough to satisfy me and I never feel like it was enough at the end
Read above reply to other guy about how I feel about Miyazaki, still absolute legend in my book I'm just not huge into the movies

Imo even if you would take away the compelling characters and the relevant and thought provoking themes, most Miyazaki movies would still classify as masterpieces solely based on how good the art direction and the animation are.

But spirited away has a great story too. The worldbuilding, the build up of chihiro's character and her relationship with haku, and the ending are fantastic. It tells a coming of age story in a fantastical but realistic in its rules setting and adds a good love story. Add to that amazing animation, a great joe hisaishi ost and that beautiful sense of childhood wonder most miyazaki movies have, its a fantastic movie

Yeah that's what I'm saying. That even if you were to take all those amazing aspects away, the product would still be fantastic regardless. That should tell you how I feel about the fully realized projects.
Violet Evergarden vs Spirited Away; Winner: Spirited Away (8-6)

You're 100% right
Weird comparing two completely different mediums (show vs film)
Really enjoyed HxH but my vote goes for Perfect Blue, iconic 90's anime.
