Maybe like 5% of seasonals are good, but that's to be expected.
For non-seasonals the hit-rate is a lot higher and it's a lot easier to find good stuff to watch because a lot of the anime watchers I know have their own unique tastes and have either watched similar amounts as me or more than me. Like, I can just pull up the AniList of the "sunday morning magical girls show aimed at little girls" guy/girl to get an idea of which shows in that genre are good to try out, and since they have seen so much anime I can check out the niche shows of an already niche genre that I would normally never get around to on my own.
