Don't know if the vote still open but Silent Voice was crazy. I doubt many directors can do justice to the source material. Yamada Naoko was utterly the best pick given her attention, almost an obsession to expression through body language. Highlighting forms is where animation surpasses live actions, giving room for audience to notice stuff that they don't normally pick up watching actors in real time

Ik folks mad tho saying SV shoulda been a tv series instead. I still believe the movie was pretty solid how it turned out 🤷‍♀️
