Not really, I found S2 mediocre as well. The problems I have with the show is rooted in its identity so its never really going to change and at this point me continuing to watch is just sunken cost fallacy.

The main problem that I have is that around 70% of the dialogue in this anime is just characters inner monologuing exactly what is happening on the screen as if the viewers are completely re*ard*d (then again, I must be somewhat mentally delayed for continuing to watch this for so long) or the anime presenting a flashback for a character you knew for 1 episode. The anime just really loves to insult your intelligence.

Don’t like any of the 3 guys from the main cast and Nekuzo isn’t actually a real character, she’s kinda like the equivalent of when game developers put a dog in a video game and then say s*** like “you can pet the dog” - doesn’t provide anything to the story but I guess some people think its cute.

Pacing in this show is also terrible because as I explained above, it loves to explain things you have just seen for 3 minutes before moving on to the next thing it should explain to you

my enjoyment of this show dropped after the timeskip tbh. mappa did a great job animating it but the writing is just so bad

and the villain backstories shoved in before they actually die lol

Last time and I had to back away from the screen with a visceral reaction was Jojo. Just the perfect episode, we don’t deserve this adaptation.

Thorfinn new ideology is a sweet dream and all, but unrealistic. I hope this series ends with him getting killed protecting his beliefs at least cuz the cycle is never ending.

I agree w all of this, then again the action is really good. and most action anime are just this with mid action. that's why I like it.

Plus it's just fun for me to watch the hype anime of the week.

The problem is they expected to outperform JJk overall, and didn’t get that result in comparison after the release. Also, I’m not surprise about the change after season 1 receptions and performance. I think they don’t want risk losing many Japanese buyer and supporter.

Whole show is peak honestly, and Thorfinn is an excellent protagonist. From an innocent boy, he is soon exposed to a world of violence and cruelty, where societal expectations practically demand that he be a man who kills without mercy. And now we see him compassionately opening his eyes to the evils that such a structure brings upon everyone. Fantastic, and timely message.
