Since we are on the topic of MT. I remember when season one was airing and I was complaining about Rudeus sexually assaulting minors with no consequences, someone in this thread told me it was OK for Rudeus to pursue relationships with minors because despite the fact that he had the mind of a 40 year old, he was now in the body of a minor. I don't remember who you are, but if you are reading this, you are an idiot.
Writer: can write their world to literally be anything they want
Same writer: maybe slavery isn't so bad
yeah itd be best to ignore
so glad I’ve had this dude blocked since he signed up
"About Rudeus: He doesn't really have any feelings of hatred for slavery. He feels like, it's not necessarily the case that all slaves are universally unhappier as slaves than they were before becoming slaves. So while kidnapping is evil, he can't say with certainty that slavery itself is evil and doesn't want to impose his own sense of justice upon a culture he is unfamiliar with."
I like some aspects of the show but man is it embarrassing to be a watcher when reading this nut ass s***.
common isekai L
Honestly if you need a show to tell you slavery is bad, you have way bigger issues than you realize
Holy s*** anime of the year. Bocchi could NEVER.
!https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QkG7tIGYgSwThey just made the same s*** lol

Bruh it's like if you're trying to make MC grow and seem like he's going to become a better person, don't have him rocking with slavery just cause "society" says it's cool.

I mean idk about the manga but in this ep, it depicts Rudy empathizing with the slave and giving her the choice to either end her misery now or for her to live a new life. I didn’t get any vibe that he supported slavery. Just seemed more like him knowing he can’t change s*** and tried to help someone who desperately needed it

Why write slavery into your story isekai at all lol
Why write slavery into your story isekai at all lol
Why not? If the answer is because you might offend some people, then you may as well not write any story because there will always be some element that offends people

how else are these idiots supposed to self-insert into their male fantasy

Most art is inherently a male or female fantasy depending on the demographic it’s being made for
Not sure how slavery is exclusively a male fantasy though. The Nightingale is a female fantasy about a rape victim that teams up with a runaway slave only to tell him she, a white woman, had it worse than him

Let's just stop writing slavery trope into every Isekai tbh. S*** is boring as hell lmao.
Last female focussed isekai had a girl rescue a male fairy slave as a romance lol.

lol slavery in this medium is definitely more geared to the male neet demographic than anything else. There's a reason any time it is used as a plot device there's like a 95% chance the slave is female

Because it's stupid as f*** and someone writing a generic isekai doesn't have the writing chops to tackle it in any meaningful way

Not necessarily
The Familiar of Zero is an anime with a female protagonist who essentially gets a male slave that does everything she asks. She beats him, makes him wash her clothes, and makes him even dress her. Its absolutely a female fantasy in that it’s about a useless and bothersome girl who gets a man to do everything for her and improve her life and be her slave (a slightly more extreme version of virtually every shoujo)
And there’s quite a few shows with premises similar to that or where the guy is someone’s butler or servant
