Made in abyss was such a wild ride, Golden City was so good that I think it deserved a movie treatment.
Faputa sosu 🥺
I thought translation quality would only get higher as time went on but because they simuldub stuff now they got these translators dubbing whole ass episodes in like 24 hour spans and they're bound to make mistakes when doing it
Shout out to the days of pirated YouTube when we had independent subber's who painstakingly made sure subs were accurate "ore no nihongo ii des ne?!"
Every show not named Baki and Jojo
Sheesh if you can't binge roughly 6 hours of anime in one sitting you moved down from S Tier fan (just jokes)
Yeah, but my point is, "Why?". Personally, I think watching anything dubbed is insulting to the creative team behind the TV show, movie, anime, or whatever.
At the end of the day, ofc people are free to consume that type of content as they please, but man, the concept is so crazy to me.
Fucc dubs and anyone who watches ANYTHING dubbed lmaoo

Facts bro, they had a dope series called Ayashimon a while back that was made by the dude who made Hell's Paradise and worked on chainsaw man
If that manga didn't get cancelled after 25 chapters I feel like it could've maybe even rivalled Chainsaw Man
Wake up new JJK trailer just dropped
https://twitter.com/animetv_jp/status/1694725790762693029i've been a vocal jjk hater itt but i may have to eat those words and start watching cause this looks hard

urara and hashihime had such cool designs
it's a shame it got axed but it was honestly going nowhere for weeks so im not surprised the jp community lost interest
A classic

there's a very big misconception that subs have to be 100% accurate in terms of 1 to 1 language, where japanese studying nerds will go THATS ACTUALLY NOT WHAT THAT CHARACTER SAID!!!! ect (this is not possible when translating english to japanese)
it's more about trying to get across the same nuance in a different language and without time to carefully think about it it's really not possible to do it effectively imo
also with translating itself being a skill just speaking japanese or doing what some manga scanlators do and just throwing the s*** in google translate and trying to fix the english is insane
like i live and work in japanese but i would not consider myself qualified to translate anime into english lol

I agree to the nuance as a multi linguist im aware direct translations don't always convey the sentiment or subject the sentence is trying to elicit. That being said I don't expect incorrect translations of something as simple and redundant as "ano toki"
Edit: where in Japan do you live? That's fkn sick
