for all the hype the manga had what's being presented in the anime just seems very average. it's not boring, but after every episode my only thought is "that was fine i guess" and that's it. people talk about how much they love the characters and i don't see it. maybe those are manga readers who already know the characters but to me nothing sticks out about any of the characters, they all feel pretty by the numbers. visually i don't feel like there's much interesting going on either. the cooking segments are fun and the most interesting but they're pretty short and i don't feel like everything surrounding the cooking makes up for that
like i said, it's not boring, i'll finish it, there's just a disconnect between the love i see it getting and what i'm watching. maybe i expected too much cause of the hype from manga readers
Bruh I've seen entire video essays about the manga's art and other characters before watching before, and I felt the same way after watching episodes 1 and 2.
Me and my girl even haven't stopped to think about the fact we're missing the show lol
dungeon meshi not hitting for me
I'm enjoying the show. It looks good, the characters are likable, and the premise is interesting. The only thing that bothers me is how the main characters don't seem to have any sense of urgency to rescue the girl who was eaten. They sure are taking their sweet time.
fav anime this season has been Bravern, just cause of how absurd it is, and everyone was doubting before even watching it. Extremely good pacing, and genuinely funny. It has a lot of cracks in terms of quality with animation, but the characters are well defined and it has soul. I've seen people call it 'Venture Bros' for Mecha and that is somewhat apt
I probably should watch Bucchiguri to see if thats all good too

If you expecting a rich story this not it. It's just fun action and leveling up like a video game. More or less the same thing as you been watching these last 2 eps

I think the main character needs to progress a little for me I don't really like him
I love it when animators cleanly settle their characters into the poses with 1s, or 2s makes the follow up from the anticipation more gratifying. Onishi is a god

Update: Bucchiguri is great visually, unique, setting, and has some decent lol humor, but has an annoying MC, and everyone except Matakara is a terrible person
