I agree but it's too simplified. In other action anime I felt like the character introductions were more subtle.
For example the new hashira they work with in the new season. His personality is "flashy" so he just says "flashy". Same with the villainess who I think is really cool. She's just mean and says "I'm pretty and I don't care about ugly people" like a Twitter account. It's heavy handed and too obvious.
you have to take into consideration the amount of time they have introduce each one
that's why they resort to cheap gimmicks....to not let the watcher lose sight of the plot

I hate to give MHA credit (they f***ing suck rn) but even they do a better job even though they don't ever develop the characters. It just feels less obvious. Just a little nitpicky thing about the writing but it kept me from relating to anyone besides Tanjiro and Nezuko in the first season.
i liked the aot ending
it was the best possible outcome for the characters we grew to love...isayama's only choices were to either kill a bunch of people off or come up with a plot twist to preserve everyone
honestly for the most characters and the last few scenes and fights were all great.
I just think they shouldve skipped the entire Eren and Armin dialogue. Essentially have Eren selfishly live in a fantasy with Mikasa for 5 years while he destroys the world and his friends try to stop him. Mikasa wouldnt know of it, proceed to kill him. Have the last scene of his grave before the now free city under the tree. Not have this weird genocide apologist scene :scust:

minor spoiler for mha but even though it has over 70-80 characters the latest plot points involve not even 20% of em

I haven't read the manga, but I think AOT's problem is them over-explaining everything that it takes away from the story and would've been better off vague or left to interpretation.
Like the memory erase thing from S3\. Forced exposition for 2 episodes only to end it with an ugly CGI fight scene and it not really mattering much.

Yeah no s*** they keep introducing new characters just to show up one time and never again. And they're clearly out of super powers so they make up useless ones. Make a Deku and Bakugo centered arc you cowards.
theres maybe like one and a half well written characters (reiner and gabbie). Does mikasa even have a meaningful character trait that doesnt revolve around eren?
the animation is terrible outside of the handful of scenes where Imai gets dragged into the studio
the compositing in the newest season is ugly as f***
bad cgi
new topics brought up in the latest season could theoretically make the show more interesting, but they've been brought up so late into the story, and their execution so far has been so unsubtle and on-the-nose that i dont trust the show to handle it with a sense of elegance
Aight, I don't agree with those points but fair enough I guess. It's still crazy to me that someone would give it a 1/5.
what would yall think if aot went with an anime original ending
More reasons to read the manga tbh
Ngl id actually encourage anime adaptations having their own endings and s***, so i can have 2 different storylines based off of one work. If i dont like it there's always the original manga ending

exactly! thank you!!!

I've yet to see an original anime ending that was better than the manga

that's what ive been thinking, it would benefit both manga sales and the fandom

Fma? Granted, there havent been that many original endings to begin with

I watched both versions, Brotherhood ending is way better but the OG ending is respectable.

Ngl, fma Brotherhood ending is just aight, nothing crazy but nothing trash either. That's how i imagine aot ending to be based on opinions ive heard here and elsewhere
Btw horikoshi's twitter account is a blessing dude is an amazing artist i love his artwork

probably the most underrated when it comes to artwork
season 5 in manga form had some of the best panels ive ever seen
Now that the quality of the anime fell off im reading the manga f*** it

There's a few interesting theories the anime will have a different ending - the way Eren wakes up from his dream in ep.1 is significantly different from the manga: his dialogue with mikasa, also the way he is positioned (in the manga he's leaning against the tree and wakes up peacefully - in the anime he's in the same position Mikasa buries him at the of the manga, and he wakes up in a state of shock). Also in the manga one of the "memory shards" features a scene that never happened in the manga, but that DID happen in the anime - all of this is almost implying the entire anime is a 3rd timeline of the whole story (the second timeline being that eren/mikasa reunion in the woods, which we saw in the manga).
Realistically, do I think it's gonna happen - not really. But if it were to happen, the reaction would be insane.
after eren got ymir's power he apparently couldnt see the past or present everything happened at once. even though the next page heavily implies that he saved bertolt from getting eaten by a titan and sacrificed his mom
What?? I dont understand at all

When did MHA not suck?

there were some trash timeline differences in the anime but the shigaraki backstory was nice
one thing ive noticed with every season of mha is how they end in the most hype moment and instead of picking up where they left off they somehow switch back to the ''academia'' part of the plot
