Just finished it and here's my thoughts on it. (no major spoilers)
my only problem with it is that we didnt get a proper closure with things such as the suicide law, Itsuki and the aftermath of a lot of events
BUT as far as seizaki and magase go the ending was nice and not what I expected
soo...is it worth watching? yes. If you like thriller/mystery shows it's worth your time even if a couple episodes feel anti-climatic
I’m running through Monster rn but I suppose I’ll have to finish it because I hate Magase

she's a female-mini johan ....if that makes sense lol
Forgot how amazing The Boy and The Beast was
that ending bro had me crying tears of joy
Ayo tower of god keeps getting better
S*** getting me so immersed that the episodes feel 10 minutes long
Unrelated but i definitely see hxh influence

i watched when it first came out, i remember it moved me when i watched it and when i went to rehab i met a dude who was into anime and i recommended it to him...
I'm about to start it now, I forgot exactly what happened in the end but i know it was super sad for a bit, then it made me really happy... it was so well put together.
It was my movie of the year when it came out. I'm excited to watch it sober.
Why do you guys anime films aren’t as big in North America. Like in Japan they crush box offices but over here (at least in my area) you don’t hear that much or we might not even get films.
Is there still a stigma towards them here? Like people still think of them are just “cartoons”

I've been sober for awhile and I always thought I got the deeper meaning of anime/music/movies with d**** but now that I got a few moments of clarity I realize that d**** cripple your mind
great movie. I love action anime but nothing gets me more happy that I'm into anime than an emotional story

Same man. I used to think d**** unlocked something. But the more I did d**** to try to write the more I realized I was just writing in circles, repeating myself over and over again. Trying to convince myself that there was this great deeper meaning to things.

I stopped writing when I understood that I just recycle the same thoughts over and over again
if writing isnt beneficial to you or anyone else you're just wasting your time

Pretty much. The West in general still has the mindset that animated = for children. Combine that with the fact that in the West even anime fans don't give a f*** about some the stuff released unless it's part of an established franchise that's already big in the West, or comes from a big name studio or director. I mean, how many western anime fans care about Detective Conan or Doraemon lol. There's no reason to release either of those two in the West since there's no audience. Even stuff like Love Live which has a decent enough following in the West won't have a big enough audience to release the movie here either.

Exactly. It probably has something to do with how bad the dubbiNg has been too. A lot of the emotion gets lost in translation.
And you don’t really see people openly speak about anime either. My friends older brother loves it but he will never talk about it or admit it because people are like “bro you’re jacked and smash girls how can you like anime”. It’s so f***ed up
How come some shows that are currently airing have stopped releasing dubs since the corona lockdown started?
Black Clover has released generally on the same schedule as before but none one dub has come out and MHA has only had 1 dub release since quarantine started
Whats good with this? I miss watching black clover.. :(
Anyone know if voice actors are recorded in advance? like before animating or is this all done simultaneously? whats that schedule like?
Also does the availability of a VA have an impact on the scheduling of an anime? If someone like Ishikawa Yui who does Mikassa on AoT was busy doing voice acting for another anime does that push back AoT?

You might need to open the image in a new page or zoom in. Voices (AR) and sound in general (DB) come at the very end.
This is why I maintain the opinion that Shirobako is an essential watch for any anime fan.
@Psychodrama i think I might have to check out some other Mamoru Hosoda movies. The Boy and The Beast got me smiling ear to ear right now.

well dam looks like I'm putting every other anime on hold and watching this cause I think this the 2nd time you recommended me Shirobako but it just remained on my backlog
Got Wolf Children, Mirai, Spirited Away, and Princess Mononoke lined up after I’m done The Boy and The Beast

Looool naw you're good. I know I hate the feeling of being pressured to watch something just cause someone recommended it. Just watch it whenever you feel like it.

This s*** giving me anxiety tho lol, I already knew making anime difficult but it looks like a mess from what I seen in the first episode
