do you remember which one you saw? there's so many different gundam shows you're bound to find at least one you might like tbh
I don't remember. I watched a few episodes here and there ( there was at least one or two seasons I would really try to actually get into though) and it turned into whenever Gundam would come on I would do something else to avoid the boring time slot.

Yeah for sure. I am coming around to the whole Mecha thing now.

try 08th ms team
it's different from the other gundams since it has them fighting in more grounded areas instead of space, the characters are fairly interesting, and it's only 13 episodes

it also has one of the sickest fight scenes in the whole series

Yo I haven't finished it, got interrupted the last time. I already get the feel it's an improvement early on during my watch
Just finished the movie. Was cute af man
Edit : watching the post credit scene and wtfuk is this bruh :meekstare:
Edit 2: nvm I was speaking too early lol
Definitely worth finishing the movie sometime if you plan on going back to it.

Man I want to see katou

Try gundam thunderbolt it's just 4 eps or you can watch the movie which is just the 4 eps combined. It's pretty dark but the characters are good and i think it's one of the better gundams to show how both sides have it tough in war
Killer Shark In Another World
This is one of the funniest manga I have ever read. It's about this magic user who is a complete failure. She is enrolled in a school to train people to combat a demon lord who is threatening their world. All of her class mates hate her. Her teacher says they need to manifest a familiar and if she can't do it she is being expelled. Somehow she ends up creating the strongest familiar in their world. It's a shark.. It ends up going crazy and eats all of her classmates. What follows afterwards is a crazy story of her traveling throughout their land with this monster that the girl cannot control. One minute it will go ballistic and the next it is like a cute dog lol. It takes all of our western monster movies and Japanese ones and makes a mockery of it.
I feel like at a certain point you just gotta stop at the main entity people know of
Like decades later, OP is gonna unfortunately eclipse DB and itβll be remembered as the originator of that goofy ever yearning protagonist
I feel like mazinger Z is as remembered as gundam, at least in japan, its just that gundam is more popular. Not denying gundam's impact of course, they have a life sized gundam they wanted to flex on the olympics so it has massive impact on japanese culture.
And no, one piece and dragon ball are both gonna be remembered for a long time but for different reasons
Did y'all see the Netflix Anime Announcements?
theverge.com/2021/6/10/22527983/netflix-geeked-week-anime-trailers-mobile-suit-gundam-godzilla
Apparently they're making an anime based off that movie Bright with Will Smith
I don't think the AOT ending was quite as bad as GOT, but in terms of "great series, bad ending" yeah it matches up.
It didn't end
AOT not in no Mt Rushmore lmfao
maybe Mt Rushmore of the worst endings of all time
It didn't end
Watching the first episode of every show this season to choose the "good" ones was a mistake. Now I'm just bored watching a bunch of mid shows without the spice of being able to hate-watch dogshit shows.
Used to have that thought process now I just watch 1-2 anime each season and drop whatever's too boring
The bad thing is that I saved myself some bad anime from my MAL that I can't b**** about
Honestly I have no actual opinion on mecha but I was reminded of this and can't resist posting it

I watched only the very popular mechas:
Neon Genesis Evangelion
FLCL
Code Geass
Gurren Lagann
Darling In the Franxx
My opinion of all of them is that the mecha part is never the interesting part. That's why I don't think I'll be into Gundam, where I think it's all about mecha and mecha lore (or am I wrong?)
One I was interested in was Eureka Seven. Didn't watch it yet because it's long but apparently the characters are good.
Mecha is only really good where it serves as foil for the characters. Like in Evangelion or FLCL. The battles are supposed to represent actual character themes and progression. Even then I prefer one on one fights.

I've heard Gundam's main focus is on its anti-war themes actually.
I guess there's a reason why this meme exists.
